Vanguard oil leaks/sprays

I have two problems to address with my 18hp vanguard. I noticed some oil on the wall of my van and on the engine muffler but couldn't trace the source till I cleaned up the engine block. When I fired it back up I couldn't recreate the spray but I found two leaks. See the attached pic. The worst one was coming from behind the bolt circled in red. I think there was more oil leaking from behind the shroud piece it is holding. A tiny leak is also coming off the bolt with the orange square around it in the pic. How do I fix these leaks?

Secondly, in the process of re-positioning the engine to work on it I detached the battery cable and the red cable touched the device with the green circle around it and a spark flew. When reconnected it wouldn't start with the key, had to pull start it. Did I fry the starter, my battery, or something else?

So I gave it a closer look by removing the screw circled in red and bending the shroud back and re-starting the engine. That leak has nothing to do with the screw but I saw the following. Behind the shroud about where the yellow circle is...there forms several drops of oil, I think they might be coming from further toward the front of the engine and the air flow is pushing them back. Secondly, there is a definite gasket leak at the spot circled in blue. What is this gasket called (part number also) and is it easy to replace?

By the way this engine has less than 600 hours on it.
