USM and Walmart Lets Talk about them!!

I'm just saying I have had a heck of a time getting paid. I have faxed my invoice packet ... yes packet to them 5 times now. No one seems to find it on file. Finally had the local GM call her home office who deals with USM. Still no help. The b!tch of it is the fact that I marked my invoices "fast pay" which is the same as 5/10. no biggie. but it has been over 60 days now ....

They have damaged my relationship with USM and walmart...the GM of our local store isn't happy because she really wanted us to do the landscape maint. this year. I told her i'm not interested bc it's not worth the extra headache of dealing with USM.

I think they are set for failure if you ask me, I wish no one ill will but trying to facilatate this deal is tough.
 
We did hood cleaning for our local store around the same time wally was going to the online vendor database. It was the first time our stores had used it and the first time their regional office had used it. I submitted my packet online numerous times at home and twice in the office in back of one of the stores on their computer. Long story short, we NEVER GOT PAID!!! I've pretty much written off doing business with them since...

I guess I'm actually in the system. I get their "no gift policy" message and others set to vendors.
 
What we need is Compliance Depot to check all their credentials and how they pay and then charge them $95 and they can get on the "approved" list.

USM has bee around for a while. The people I know that deal with them say they are a little slow at first but once you are established they are only 30-45 days out. If you are able to meet their criteria it doesn't take long and they start to throw a lot of work your way. Their pricing can be low on some jobs but higher on others. You just need to adjust your scope of work to fit in the budget they are willing to let you work with.

Would I say it is as good as dealing direct with the stores, no but it can be easier and it can pay close to the same. If it is too low just tell them no thanks. If they really need you they will pay your price or call you when the other guy messes up.
 
I caught wind of a local contractor who had the landscaping on the 7 local stores and was scheduled to start next month with them. He got an email stating they were giving those to another contractor who had beat their price and gave him no option of matching the price or anything. There was also insurance changed hd had to do an add wc to his policy and the changes already cost him 1k but with the contract in place there was no worry till this email.

Well we are vendors for Walmart directly through corporate and we make more money off windows and restroom cleanings then that. I honestly never read the scope of work from USM but if $309 is making $200 a man hr then they are not having a whole lot cleaned and even if they are I am still not interested. I'll let Ron take them all. He can handle them all anyway.

I thought I read the TLE aprons were to be cleaned as well as the cart corrals. Moving the carts will most likely take the most time plus getting a member of mgt to sign off on everything.

Anyone heard back yet I heard within 2 weeks we sould know something. What about the annual clean of all the sidewalks.
 
I had about 7 local Wal Marts for quite a while but was being subbed by a national company( not USM). I would like to be able to bid on the Wal Marts but am not sure who to contact. I have called USM corporate and talked to them about it but am running into dead ends. I would really appreciate any help with this. Thanks for everything else.

Find something else to fill those your loosing with the rates are crap from usm
