Unloader issue

The unloader releases the pressure at 3000PSI using the Classic surface cleaner. The machine is Pressure-Tek 3500PSI, 5.6GPM. It is basically brand new. The unloader regulator is sealed and I dont want to mess with it since it is a month old machine in warranty. Should I take it to the dealer or it is something I can fix myself?

Thanks guys!!

Looks like a K7 not getting the right flow.

Is it always cycling like that or just when the trigger is pulled?

What type unlooader?

When the gun is off, it does not do that. I don't know what is the brand of the unloader. The machine is Hydro-Tek. Yesterday it wasn't acting like that. I guess, I should take it to the dealer.

What is K7? The machine was originally designed with a little buffer tank and a 3/4 hose line feeder. I modified it to suck up water from a 1" line directly from the tank running through a 1" in/out filter, but the filter is clean. Could it be lack of flow? I need to make sure I didn't screw it up before I take it to the dealer.

Does it act like that through a gun too? Maybe the nozzles are too small in your surface cleaner. What model Hydro Tek is it?

SS35006VG, I thought about the nozzles, but it should not be that. It all worked fine before today. I think the original nozzles on the Classic are 2x2.5 orifice. and they have something inside.

you may want to change over to (2) 2503 tips to make sure you get the full flow

I was going to mention to run the 3.0 nozzles, 2.5 are kind of small, maybe that is why your unloader is doing that since you are not flowing what you can out the nozzles.

I run 3.0 nozzles on my 5.6gpm 3000psi machine, I use the 19" Classic, 24" Steel Eagle and other brands/sizes but still the 3.0 nozzles for that pressure washer.

Good Luck.

Lets say it's the nozzles, why the gauge shows unloading at 3000PSI? My understanding is that if the machine is rated at 3500PSI, then it should unload at 3500PSI? It does that only when I hook up the classic surface cleaner. With a wand it works just fine. Does anybody know what are the little thingies inside the nozzles that come with the Classic?

Fox, if it's a flow unloader, and it seems like it is, the reduction in flow sends it in to bypass not the pressure, maybe it's blocked somewhere. Is there little metal 'figure 8's' in the nozzles? They are supposed to reduce turbulence, I think they are standard in the spraying systems.
