What would clean more effectively if the TDS was say around 110? Would RO water or DI water be better or the same?

It's all about stages of purification. DI is the final stage so is the best for cleaning. You add the RO stage to make the purification of higher TDS more economical.

I get my DI resin from www.waterfilters.net Just go there and search for "DI resin".

Its the cheapest I've found. I get a full cube of mixed bed DI resin for about $156.00 (FREE SHIPPING!!!!!!!) delivered to my door. I've found no other source that can touch this. It's good stuff. I use about two cubes per year for years now.

Something else you can do to extend your resin life Conner is to reduce the flow. 1 GPM is a lot for wfp work. 1/2 to 3/4 GPM is plenty.

Before you buy consult with Tony Evans, better known as "Mr. Squeegee". He stays up on all the latest Water Fed Pole gear and knows all the ins and outs. I agree with Tony that with the Unger Hydropower unit you'll spend more on the proprietary bags of DI resin from Unger. I'm sure that unit is nice as Unger makes great stuff but over the long haul it'll cost you much more in DI resin.
