Time heals all wounds unless your the type of person that never lets time heal anything. Passion can cause people who care to maybe care to much. Friends became frienenemies(heard this word for the first time recently).
Just a thought that I'm throwing on the table. I never had a discussion about this with anyone. I did have many discussions with people in the past of how well we put together the UAMCC Convention in 2009. The approval rate there was over 95%. Pretty much everyone I ever spoke to that went to that Convention really enjoyed it.
The thought occurred to me since I haven't been on the UAMCC bb in months is "What is the UAMCC considering to do for a convention in the near future?"
I think even though we bickered some, Carlos,Jeff L,Rob Huffman, Don Phelps and myself did a pretty good job with that Convention. Whenever I talk to Jake Clark, Tom Vogle, and many others they all in agreement that Convention was awesome.
I know where I stand with some of the UAMCC guys now in charge but those things never affect me if I think I can help move something forward. I can sit with a "Frienenemy" or a friend anywhere anytime if it can mean we could move something positive forward.
The PWNA already has there Convention Committee and there Convention set in stone for next year in Orlando again. Same hotel which was a nice place + 2hr long every day free cocktail hours. Myself and Charlie Arnold gave a way an award at one of those. It's fun to learn at these Conventions and network as well but it's also fun....to have Fun at them to.
Don't know where I'm going with this yet because on one breath I feel like seeing if the UAMCC needs anyone with experience with Convention committee work needs any help in that Dep't. The other breath it's easier to sit back and see what these org's do and decide if I should go to their Convention. That's the easier choice but I also know from experience it's rewarding to make Things happened and you can't put a price on that experience.
Besides UAMCC having representation at Roundtables--what are there plans for a Convention or is that not being considered at this time?
