How does using a chemical that raises phosphours levels in drinking water, recreational waters, damages wildlife and fish make you "in the 20 century"

I my opinon using a chemical that is known to cause these types of problems and have negative effects on YOUR environment is irresponsible and neglegent.

To take that same chemical and add borax and pool chlorine to it, catch it in a plastic bag located on a gutter downspout and them dump it in someones driveway or the curb to dilute it is beyond comprehension.

Thank god my state is really in the "20 century" and we know that is not good for us,our children , wildlife or anything else.

BTW in my state you can get put in jail for that. We have a zero discharge into any storm drain or street that leads to a storm drain, wetlands, or surface water.

Its a good thing we're in the 21 century, and what Russ was saying is that Alabama hasn't changed its laws. It is good for cleaning roofs, and the small amounts that MAY get into the ground will not harm you, your children or your precious wildlife, as much as tree huggers might lead you to believe that everything we do harms the enviroment.

I got to tell you, i'm all for doing what we can not to pollute and what not, but my customers sure do like the idea of me not using pressure.

And just a thought, you are aware that they put chlorine and loads of other stuff in your drinking water right?? You should go have a word with them.:)

I am one of the new kids on the block.
and still doing a lot of reading of TSP.
It ant only used for cleaning.
Do a short study bet you well be surprised.
Are maybe some of us just don't want to know.

Have a great spring

It can also be found as a food additive; it is used as an acidity regulator (buffering agent), emulsifier, thickening agent, nutrition enlargement agent and sequestrant (metal-chelating agent).

Scott,
After reading you profile and posts I understand why you would make the comments you did.

According to your posts you have less than 1 year experience and are 22 years old. I would suggest leaving out the tree hugger comments and hitting the net and some books to find out what the dangers are of the chemicals you are using. For instance did you know TSP corrodes aluminium or that chlorine dries out fiberglass shingles?

I watched your video of the roof cleaning you did and I would suggest that if you want to be an "old" powerwasher or roof cleaner that you invest in respirators and wear them. Gloves, boots and eye protection as well as chemical resistant pants would also be a good idea.

BTW I am very aware of what goes into treated drinking water and waste water treatment. I founded a non profit water protection group in my area and took on major developers, the NJ DEP, Wal Mart and Premium Outlets ( and won) to protect my local waterways from over development and the resulting pollution. My local waterways have 300 foot no build buffers on both sides because of me and the BOD of my group. I had to lobby the govenor and gain considerable support from other environmental groups to get the buffers. Our drinking water supply will be protect forever because of our work.

P.S. When you have 25,000 homes under your belt feel free to critizie me. Until then try to listen and learn or you'll be out of buisness in two years like 90% of the new guys.

Brian I wish our state was up to standards but its not , however it does make it easier to make money but also it can be in some cases sad as well as hazerdous if not done properly

we do take precautions to neutralize when possible what we put down
