Matt it wasnt me who stripped it was the shop who rebuilt the pump that did it. I don't know how you could cross thread that valve cap but they some how succeded. if you want something done right do it yourself is my new motto.
Well the repair side of industry is one of those things you have to learn from someone who knows more than you, not very much training available out there. Unfortunately many of the shops out there have staff that have very little training at all and rarely even understand what is happening and how it happens. They tend to be "part changers" and not technicians.
good motto to have. I didn't mean to suggest it was you. I have trained a Lot of pw mechanics and have seen them strip the flats off a valve cap. lol. Are you saying they cross threaded it when they put it back together? If so i'm afraid that pump is junk unless you can find a tap that will work with metric o-ring threads.
