Travel Trailers

Are any of you guys cleaning travel trailers? Did one for a friend today. Washed the rubber roof and than washed the trailer. We used an automotive wash that also contains wax. Clean with using a brush with a handle. 600 psi cold @ 4.0 gpm. It turned our really good! The owner was going to apply a preservative to the roof himself.
I think I can do the above wash and apply the preservative at an owners location. This is a real easy job!
Do you think $100-200 would be to high. The selling point is preseving the roof.

Any input will be appreciated!

A word of warning, those rubber roofs need special cleaners and you have to apply a new coat of rubber sealer after your done.

I used to do my RV twice a year before I sold it. GO to any RV dealer and talk with them about it, if you have a Camping World near you go there.

As for price I cannot help you there, not into that stuff.

Jon,
You are correct. We only used a mild soap on the roof and than rinsed completely. I am aware of the conditioner needing to be applied. I was thinking that would be my niche. I wonder how many people acually get this service done yearly.
Thanks for the input. I will check into it further.

I HAVE AN RV AND I APPLY A NEW COAT ON THE ROOF EVERY YEAR. I ROLL IT ON LIKE PAINT. THIS WOULD BE A GREAT AREA FOR YOU TO EXPAND. IF YOU RECOATED THE ROOF AND WASHED THE RV YOU COULD EASILY CHARGE 250-300 PER VEHIICLE. GOOD LUCK JOHN247

Ok if you want to seek this out as your niche here is a suggestion which I am sure you already looked into.

All those mobil home parks, rv parks too for that matter are where your going to seek your work, right?

Now if I recall there were post about washing double wides etc. a long time ago and the main thing was WATER, most parks don't all or like the idea of water being used for this purpose.

Again it was last year or year before this was posted and talked about so you might want to do a search here and on the other boards.

Not trying to bust your bubble, only make you aware of all sides of an issue before you venture to deeply into it.

Now I agree that they do need it done and if you were to expand on the recoating of rubber roof as a sales point that might be the way to go about it.

Jon,
I am more interested in doing the large TT and motor coaches.
I only want to do the service at the customers home. The intent would be to create a possible snow ball effect with other owners in the neighborhood.
I totaly agree that doing them in the RV park would be difficult because of space and limited water. Most parks probably offer that type of service themselves.

Thanks for the input. I always appreciate the frankness also. Sometimes we only see things the way we want them to be and not how they actually are!

John 247,
I had the same application technique in mind. Would be great to schedule folks for a yearly cleaning and roof treatment. Would also offer exterior cleaning when they bring the rig in from a trip.

THIS SOUNDS EXCITING

LET ME KNOW HOW YOU DO ON THIS.WERE YOU THINKING OF SOME SORT OF FLYER ON THE WINDSHIELDS,OR POSSIBLY GET A MAILING LIST FROM AN RV RESOURCE AND DO DIRECT MAIL? DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE A MARKETING IDEA FOR THIS?

John 247,
This may sound crazy but I have considered just driving through some of the more affluent neighborhoods. Record the addresses and than send a flyer by mail. Also intend on putting an ad in the Thrify Nickle.
