Training of the AHJ

I understand Dave.
"Rusty Bashing" (whether he has it coming or not) is vastly more important that issues dealing with Unity in this field.
I apologize for trying to bring value to this thread.

I think that this bb does a very fine job in bring issues to cleaners. Because your topic lack the interest &concern of more cleaners is not our fault.

Training AHJ is similar to training Law Officers on the proper way to write a ticket. We have so much on our plate now without adding a new trade-Classroom Training for the AHJ.

I am sure that some cleaners will find this program has merit. Then they can invest and train.

In Sacramento County for example, the AHJ is also the Health Department & the FD. Then on top of that each Fire House sends out the new guys to look over building codes. It just never ends-to think of getting these people in one room, would be akin to eating a live chicken. Here is the issue and it comes down to time and money, both of which some of us need more of.

This would expand your Liability, I would think. Would open you up to some shark to get his jaws into.

I'd say take it to the county. Educate these people the same way you run your business, or at least the way I try to run mine.
Use the simplest, most effective way of working. Why chase around several little guys when there one big guy. Educate the big guy and he'll tell the little guys what to do.

Momma always said, "can't never could do nothin'". Unless there is a can do mindset taken, it will never be done.

Everyone is in charge and each think he is the key.

The Browns did good and yes the Rams did OK

Don't get to cocky-Josh. One loss in the playoffs and it's a long nine months.

For those in Canada we are talking Football! Just to make sure we are on the same subject-so to speak.

(Answer to an e-mail on this subject)

Sorry Josh

WE are redeveloping the way in which we deliver the training to the AHJ. We will come to their site (last month we were in Wichita KS).

But we are also creating a training facility in Louisville KY, (the site of our exhaust cleaner’s school). Here qualified Fire Inspectors will be taught how to deliver the course (Train the Trainer). That way they can take the information back to their area.

These courses are directed at AHJ’s, the insurance industry and property owners. They are meant to help them realize common problems with kitchen exhaust. We make it very clear that “If you remove the Fuel -- The Fire goes Out!” It is sort of a trademark slogan of mine. It is meant to enhance the value of properly Trained and Qualified cleaners.

The prices of the course vary depending on a few circumstances. They are approximately $3,000 plus expenses for a 1-day up to $6,000 to $8,000 for us to come to a State and actually deliver the Train the Trainer. http://www.philackland.com/index_FI.html

I have, in the past, invited select qualified cleaners to attend these courses. It has proven an excellent means to promote communications.

Communications is what I am about. If you feel that you are in a position to assist or coordinate an AHJ seminar, let me know. I will do what I can to make it happen.

Please understand this whole issue of training the AHJ is still very much in a Growth Phase. Things are changing; along with expectations of the qualifications of cleaners.

If you would like, I have a 1 hour Power Point program that you can use to discuss issues with your local Fire Departments http://www.philackland.com/1Hour_index.html

I got my start in working with the Fire Department about 20 years ago, by volunteering to give a short speech on cleaning systems. That was the beginning of the trail that has led me to this point. So I can strongly recommend it to everyone else. (Don’t get me started on “Back in the OOOLD days – before Power Point”)

Anyway, this PP program is easy to use. If any of you would like to know more let me know.

That is enough for now.
Later.
