To wand, or not to wand?

Hi everyone.
I am starting in the residential area with my business, and would like some advice on cedar and other wood shingles.
I have used a flat surface cleaner on asphault shingles, what about wood shingles can it be done, if so how much harder is it?
Also what is a good detergent to use in removing the silvered areas?
Or is a wand the better choice?

I dont do cedar roofs, so I'm not positive, but I believe a wand would be better, so you could get in the cracks.
