Throttle Down...

I can't give you an ease of application or how it works answer. But I can attest to it's functionality. I bought a straight out of the box 18 hp Kohler with idle down from them last spring. I've had no issues whatsoever after over 550 hours on it. The fuel cost savings will offset any PITA factors you may run across while installing the system. Have a good small engine shop do it if you can't.

They are fairly elaborate to install you have to remove the existing throttle controls and install this with several brackets. Adjustment is not that bad and they do work well however...Do not install on a hot system or on one that may require extensive use of the battery. When the unit idles down it reduces the charging rate and can cause damage to 12 v heater systems or cause them to run the battery down. If you have a generator on the unit same thing it will reduce the output on the generator. For a cold water only unit they are nice though. The idle down is activate by a flow or pressure switch as well.
