I network with painting contractors (they power wash)
I network with pool contractors (they power wash)
I network with lawn maintenance companies (they power wash)
Hell I network with OTHER power washers. I even sub to some.
IF the contractor is lowballer then it doesn't matter if they are educated on what to do, or how to do it, its their mindset (right Larry?) you'll never beat them.

I think that if someone is in my industry or another (lawns) and we compete for the same job and all things are equal ( knowledge and skill ) then it comes down to the sale of the job. I have no problem with this.
If it is the other way I do get upset, AND the next time I usually if not always get the job. ( and I get to gloat, with a told ya so and the lesson is learned )

It was not intentional name calling, you post did come across as arrogant or we would not have called you out on it.

Sometimes a person can say something and not mean it but when others see something and call him out on it, that is a sign that you should have worded it different.

Maybe you did not want to come across as arrogant, maybe you just wanted to brag a little. Some parts of the country are feeling the economy slow down more than others while some parts are booming but I don't see the point in bragging, there will always be someone out there that can sell more jobs, bigger jobs, have more customers, etc.... but the difference is that most out there will not brag about not feeling it if they lose customers or have accounts setup that they will not lose.

I understand if you did not mean to come across as arrogant.
Nice try Chris...it aint going to work. You know what I was talking about so stop minsing words. I've been working with Powerwashing contractors for years and years. Your just trying your best to rope me into an arguement when all where trying to do is have a nice Conversation.. I know what I meant so I don't need you to tell me what I meant. I think Ron agree's with me on what I'm saying and thats all it is. If you don't agree which you never do when I post something then offer something positive instead of telling people about themselves and about there bragging or whatever it is that you want to tell them about....them.

David I agree. Even at Conventions like the PWNA did a few years back I networked with some Window Cleaners there. I happened to meet a real great guy there named Jim Grady who owns Tri-County window cleaning in NY. Networking especially in this economy is paramount.

I believe that if your a true business person the integrity and honest that you display in your communications with the client, they will see and acknowledge your professionalism by either awarding you the bid or keeping you as a "if this guys sucks call Reef"

BTW we are way off topic here.
LOL....Probably. I agree that Ron has pretty much done what I was suggesting in this thread. But the Conversation has shifted over about networking with different companies in the same place you may be at such as a RT or Convention. I Probably should start another thread about that and let this one end because what I suggested has already been done.

SSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, thats what the rest have not figured out.

I'm going to close this thread because I think we did established that Ron has already done what I was suggesting. I'll start another thread about networking with other businesses in different fields then us all under the same roof.

John, Ron has not done this. The industry leaders have, the people that have helped these go off and make happen.

John , I offered you to have a roundtable six or seven times.

The offer for NY is still on the table, help the industry. Help the new NW roundtable in 2010.

The NW roundtable will be a huge Success, it will not be in the winter. NY will be in the spring when its nice out.

The offer for leaders help are always open, this is not excluding anyone.

That is very nice of you to do Ron, Glad that you are doing these Round Tables, inviting all the orgs to attend, letting them have their own meetings, etc.... like you have been doing for years. I hope you keep on putting them together.

I agree, the industry is changing a lot for the better, especially since some of the drama queens are gone, no more threads being manipulated or deleted, no more nonsense on a daily basis, and no more of that "I have proof but I will not show it yet" type of nonsense either.

Life is really great on the forums now without those pot-stirrers and lunatics here.

I think the UAMCC convention will be great!

I opened this thread, because I thought that the person that closed the thread did it for the wrong reasons, basically to protect himself. So, now anyone can post in this thread, and not just moderators, etc.
