If you don't see the patterns you might be a pressure washer.
Pattern 1 is eliminating the middle letter or in case of a "tie" the middle left letter. Pattern 2 is alternating terst (substituting the next letter in the alphabet for "r") and test so the next one should be Tevst...And yes...I was in the gifted program in school...although that doesn't explain anything now. LMAO!
