tank question

making some adjustments for our 2nd season. We had two 30 gal tanks pulling from the top with the 5800. there were times that the pump seemed to be working hard to get things started when applying cleaners to house or roof. This year I am looking at a standup 50 gal and a horz.65 that are plumbed from the bottom and will relocate the pump at a lower elavation in the trailer to help fourse things along. How does the chems effect the fittings at the tank bottom. any advice to not chase leaks all summer. thanks TROY

Bleach loves to eat EDPM, Viton and Nitrile gaskets. Best thing is to get a tank without fittings.

I got a pco tank (no bulkhead fittings) and pull from that. it is not that tall and is a 50 gallon tank (like a laydown leg tank but without the legs), kind of rectangular. I just put the mix in there and I have a 3/4" pvc tube for the suction to the pump and it works great.

My 65 gallon leg tank would eat up the Viton gaskets in around 3-5 weeks like clockwork. Bleach loves to eat metal also, like frames, driveshafts and differentials, just so you know and be prepared.

I've been using the same bulkhead/viton combo for 8 months without any leaks. If you buy the good stuff and plumb it properly you will get plenty of life out of your fittings.
