Is google Changing that Much, maybe someone can Explain whats going on?

Maybe recently the RCIA has Killed 236 in bound & Out Bound Links here?

Google keeps on changing the rules for SEO, so what once worked yesterday, can actually get you in trouble today!
The Google of today is much more "picky" about backlinks to your website, and in particular, where these backlinks COME from.
It used to be that if you had several links coming from highly ranked, but unrelated sites, Google was OK with it.
Not so much anymore.

Because of the recent Google Panda and Penguin updates, they now want RELATED backlinks before they will reward you with great SEO.

If your primary business is Pressure Washing, then posting on Forums like PWI and the UAMCC Forum is a wonderful idea.

And, if you are a roof cleaner, then you will want to post on forums like the Roof Cleaning Institute, that are highly ranked, and related to roof cleaning.

Or, if you are positioning your company as a "Softwash" one, then the National Softwash Alliance, or Softwash Systems is where you want to be.

And, for best SEO for your website on these forums, always try and post in the OPEN sections of these respective forums.

Facebook Groups don't do much for your websites SEO, especially since many, if not all Cleaning Related Facebook Groups are closed to everyone but their members. :(

Always remember, if a Facebook Group, or a part of a cleaning forum is closed to all but it's members, that Google is not a member, and can't see, or give you a credit in the form of a backlink, for posting there.

Something to think about.

Hey Chris. What about posting your website url at the end of every post on your facebook page(business page). I saw a few people posting statuses and at the end they post their url. I've never seen my RHQ Property Maintenance facebook page show up on a search, even though I label all my work, Pressure washing westchase, etc...

Yes, you can do that, in the hope that some will click on it, and every hit helps your websites traffic, and that can help rank.

For Instance Ralph, this forum is a part of Ron's Pressure Washing Company's Web Page www.propowerwash.com. You can see that if you look at the URL when you are visiting this thread. This means that every post made on PWI, or every time someone visits PWI, it directly benefits Ron Musgraves company website. So Ralph, just as you could add a website URL to every Facebook post you make to possibly increase hits to your website, Ron Musgraves is using this Forum to increase traffic to his own website. The difference is this Ralph - You must HOPE that when you add a website URL to every Facebook Business Post you make, that people will click on it!
But every single visit by anyone to PWI is of direct benefit to Ron Musgraves, automatically.

This is just my opinion Ralph, but I feel people wanting to learn about pressure washing and roof cleaning for instance are much better off to ask questions on a forum like PWI or the RCIA Forum, vs posting on Facebook.
Yes, it is super easy to post questions, and join all these Facebook groups dedicated to cleaning this and that.
In fact, sometimes you don't even have to JOIN a Facebook Group, because the group owners or their friends will actually add you to the group.
However, because nearly all of these Facebook Groups are closed to search engines and the general public, they do absolutely Nothing for your SEO!
But everytime you ask a question, or post here on PWI or the RCIA Forum, Google sees these posts, and it not only helps your SEO, but it also helps your website get crawled!
In fact, on a busy forum like PWI or the RCIA, Google will actually "park a Bot" dedicated to that forum, to capture all the new content generated by the PWI Posters!

I always suggest that any cleaning contractor post here, at the RCIA Forum, as well as National Softwash Alliance, and the Grime Scene.
It is an awesome way for you to persuade Google to crawl your site, when you post on a busy forum like PWI, or the RCIA Forum.

I also feel that there are far more true experts on the better cleaning forums, then there are on Facebook too.
LOL, sometimes on Facebook, the questions and answers are much like Stevie Wonder driving Ray Charles around.

This is why any person making a promotional post here at PWI or The RCIA Forums should always TWEET that post. (share it on Twitter).
This creates a free, instant link back to that post here on PWI, and also has the potential to get a persons Twitter Followers to click on the post as well, increasing the traffic to the post.
 
Yes Facebook is really hurting the BB's and the dirty lil secret is that FB doesnt index, database or store the content we are creating there for future access for newbies to our industry. Also FB now owns all of that content. I say lets keep the juicy stuff on the BB's.

Not a week goes by that I don't find myself a "member" of some new Facebook Group. People will add you to a group on Facebook, and the next thing you know,you are getting all kinds of repetitive posts/questions that have been answered a zillion times on a forum.
I don't want to be rude, but I am seriously thinking about finding a setting on Facebook, to be sure I am not added to any new Facebook Groups.

You are absolutely correct AC that Facebook does not store stuff for our newcomers,so the same questions keep getting asked again and again, over and over. If the newcomers were on a professional softwashing or roof cleaning forum, these same newcomers could easily search for the answers to these questions, and be assured the questions were answered by real experts.

The real problem is Facebook makes it far too easy. All one has to do is have a Facebook Page now, and they can be a member of a Facebook Group in seconds, vs having to God Forbid, take a little time to register on a professional cleaning forum, and make a forum signature.

Plus, being active on a forum dedicated to say Softwashing or Roof Cleaning has many advantages, as far as SEO goes, or the possibility of being found, and getting work!
Potential customers are unable to search a closed Facebook Group for a Softwashing or roof cleaning professional, as they are able to do at www.Softwashsystems.com or www.roofcleaninginstitute.com , or here at www.propowerwash.com

Why people waste their time hanging out on Closed Facebook Groups is beyond me, when dedicated cleaning forums are so much better, in every way.
 
For me it's getting harder and harder to answer some of the even basic questions that are being asked on FB. Even some of the simpler questions still require quite a bit of explaining and just can be done without spending some time typing, especially when the same questions get asked over and over. Simple things like "How would you clean this and how would you price it", or "Customer wants this cleaned, what would be your process and how do I price it" I am all about helping people, along with most everyone here, but sometimes we, and ME included, have to realize that giving a short answer, like, "soft wash it, or hit it with a HW mix, and $750.00, or $350.00 spray on rinse off, collect check onto next one" to something can sometimes cause more damage and mislead someone as there is always so much more that goes into it. I am really trying to watch myself on those. I worry someone may damage something, or worse yet, hurt themselves.

At the same time I want to help someone do it right, someone doesn't make us all look bad. It can be frustrating, no doubt. I think in a way it's a good thing that those questions are being asked and that maybe a closed place like FB is the best place for it, IF, they are not going to do their due diligence and research, and get educated.
