TS1511 - Pump rated at 3500 psi @4gpm .. Unloader stops rising at 2100 psi... Spikes at 3100 psi...also something else .. When it gets to 2100 it will fluctuate slowly between 2100 and 1900.. Pump just rebuilt... Unloader is a suttner brand new.. Brand new nozzle, no leaks anywhere.. No cracked pistons in pump they are new also.. My only guess is a faulty unloader.. ???

The pump may not be running at the proper RPM's

Sounds like an unloader problem if you just rebuilt the pump. Try checking the pump pressure directly form the head with out the unloader, that will tell you for sure.

the up and down make me think its the belt for sure

...or an air leak. Unloader problem shouldn't fluctuate much at all.

John, when you rebuilt the pump, did you install new seal retainer o rings?
Take the head back off and see if there are circular divots in the face of the crankcase. If so, they must be addressed, as well as new seal retainers. I had one the other day that was divoted. I pulled the crankcasse apart, pulled the rods out, took a rasp, and leveled the contact area. Put new oil seals in, (why not...I'm already there) and reassembled the crankcase, put new seal retainers in...and it was like new.

We had a cracked unloader before and it did the same thing. You didn't see the leak unless the ball valve was closed. Wide open, no leak.

Well I finally got the pulsating to stop .. It was a leak in one of my hoses going to the pump... I also had a small leak at my hose reel.. So now we are getting around 2500 psi.. The belts may have been slipping a little also.. But no matter what I do still 2500 psi...Well I guess I will live wih 2500 psi for a week , I got to get to work .. I am booked solid for the next 2 weeks. Thanks for the help>>

Found some of the problem .. Lord knows what it did to my pump... I was looking down in the water tank and oops where did my strainer water filter thing go .. It must have rusted off.. Now I have to pull everything apart and clean it all out..( Everything ) .. I beleve rust from my tank got into the inlet side of the pump , because I was cleaning little bits off rust particles out of the valves earlier.. I did order an extra few this afternoon

Well I drove all the way to Lakeland Drive , Job was canceled seems the Manager forgot I was coming..I rescheduled for Sat night.. However I do have a Job tonight.. So lets see.. I found a couple more problems.. My hose is leaking at the swivel end ( New Legacy Hose ) this is driving me crazy This is my 2nd brand new hose in 3 weeks.with the leaking swivel end.. I am going to take the unloader off and clean it out good.. I may even put my old unloader back on just to see what happens.. I am also thinking about buying a Ramteq machine from a local pressure washing store in Florence, Its a used machine but it seems to run very well.. I think it is 3000@5 and has like a 16 hp or 18 HP motor on it .. Couldn't tell the brand of motor there were no labels on it.. I didn't bother to ask ... The Guy is asking 2500.00 for it .. Anyway will see what happens.. As for the rubber O ring seal under the valves in the pump head on my whitco I checked and they all seem to be in good shape.. I did notice the oil in the pump is a little liquefied , Not full of water but its real runny ( it drips off the dipstick before you can read he measurement on the stick... I am going to change that today as well.. Think I may just bend over and buy another overpriced General Pump..

2500 for a used cold water? I got a 13 HP electric start honda clone on sale at HF for 299. A 3500 psi, 4 gpm gear drive cat pump on ebay for 310. Been running hot water through it for about 6 months now, no problems. I get hose from Northern, 100 foot for 100 bucks, one is 2.5 years old the other 2, no problems. Amazes me people spend 8 grand for a machine when 5 grand of that is for nothing but a frame to put everything in.

No its a hot machine.. (( Also fixed the problem , it was the unloader it was stripped out and was not allowing me to really crank down on it .. Now I got it set at 2800 psi .. It will go to 3200 psi but why chance it..Thanks for all the ideas... I also bought some new brackets for my pump today , and a new tank strainer filter for my water tank .. I cant believe that brass threaded thing in my unloader was actually stripped out .. I have just got to get a better unloader
I went from the blue spring model to the suttner black knob model both rated at 3650 psi
