Suspected Ice Damage to Pump Head

What thread sealant are you using? I am not familiar with a black sealant like that.
 
It is the first time I was trying a product called Gripp. It was supposed to be the best my plumbing supply had. It's okay on the low pressure side. Not too impressed with it on the high pressure side. I need to find a product I once bought that was white and was designed for very high psi gas. It worked good but I can't remember the name.
