Surface Cleaners

Hammer head,2 bar (needs repair)
aqua pro,2bar
big guy, 2 bar
love all of them

28 inch big guy 2 bar
24 inch BE 3 bar
20 inch BE 3 bar
21 inch Lubova 2 bar Vacuuming
16 inch Steel Eagle 2 bar vacuuming

I always seem to grab the 20 inch BE. It rocks with 8 gpm.

I use the 24 inch with larger tips on newer concrete and well kept work. Is faster for maintained accounts.

Mike, tell us your opinion about the Lubova and Steel Eagle vacuum surface cleaners, what you like and don't like and what you would recommend to others out there.

I have the 12" and 24" Steel Eagle vacuum surface cleaners so I don't have a chance to compare them to others on a job.

There have been a few posts and a thread where people were wondering how people like the different brand of vacuum surface cleaners, the good and bad and opinions of each.

Thanks.

24" 'custom'
4 bars, they're 9 times better than 2
40 deg nozzles with a lot of tilt - it spins FAST

I was thinking about making a custom 24" surface cleaner with 4 nozzles but with 2 that are angled for the spin and 2 straight down for the cleaning, I think that it would do a better job and faster but I think I would have to run a minimum of 8-10gpm through it for it to work.

Wondering his preference also.

Interesting idea Chris !!

More surface cleaners on the way, different design. This one has a million miles on it, 100% stainless, single handle, ball valve, casters, it has served me well.

1-16in Whirlaway
1-20in Whirlaway
1-18in GP Hammerhead

All three of these run great!

Just sold my 28in Big Guy about 2 months ago.

5 Big Guys - 2 bar - 2 tip - 15 degree tips
3 BE's (24 and 2 - 20's)- all 2 bar - 15 degree tips

I have always used 25 degree tips on the s/c do you see better results with the 15's ? I normally run 25/4.5 tips.

Just sharing some information I came across from nozzle manufacturers:

Nick may not see a difference between your 25/4.5 SC setup and Russ's 15/2.5 or 15/3.0, because although you are running a wider spray angle the "impact force" at the nozzle for your setup and Russ's is almost equal.

If However you went to a 15/4.5 your impact force should be about 1.5 times the 25/4.5 nozzles. The nice thing about it is if the 25/4.5 gets it clean to where you like it then no need to go to 15/4.5 because if you do, you may possibly have to move the SC a little slower.

(if one to two revolutions of your current setup does provide you with enough cleaning it may be better to move to the 15/4.5 then you may be faster with the 15/4.5 vs the 25/4.5 but I highly doubt it; 25/4.5 @ 3500 psi is plenty)

I run 3 arm 15/3.0 and about to switch to 15/2.5 or possibly special order 15/2.7 that Chris T mentioned; it all depends on what my pump is actually putting out after I back off the unloader to reduce max spike pressure.
