surface cleaner opinion's

With Whister Wash right here in the Tampa Bay area I see alot of Big Guy's. However, I order Steel Eagles because of there durablity and design.

As far as the Bad Boy:

Is that a special order or standard gun?

Why not just offer an ergonomic and/or standard handle instead of adjustable? Think about it, everyone of my guys are going to try and adjust this thing each time they use it. That means wear and tear and replacement of parts.

Why don't you have a wand holder? We find this extemely useful for gum and stubborn spots.

Just my options, good luck with your product!

Wand holder, my Steel Eagle has one but the wand gets in the way the way we work so I don't use it.

Not saying it is a bad idea as it is not, just that it does not work for me.

Alan have not tried that wand in it, so used to the 5 foot one I find I bend over with the shorter ones, cannot bend without pain.

I should give it a try, perhaps if I stick a steal rod behind me and duct tape it I won't bend so much. :)

Nice machine but for flat workers it is over prices, I see no reason for an adjustable unless your doing wood and need to lift the nozzles higher so as not to do damage.

I do wish my handle was a but lower so I could get under benches, or an adjustable like the one the Bad Boy has.

My only other problem I am having with the 3 spinner is the nozzles clog up much to fast, with the Big Guy I could go a month before changing nozzles, now I have to clean them nightly, a real bummer.

I am 15 minutes out of Cleveland. I would like to see it in action and I could report back here on it. Also Robert, what is the name of your company? Shoot me an email, we should meet sometime.

Jon,
If you had to do it over again would you have stayed with the Big Guy From Elite?? I have one and I love it. I may buy another one in the near future.

Also on my Surface Cleaner the quick connect is pointed to the right. I use to think that it would have been better to have the Quick connect facing towards the rear but the more I think about it with the Quick connect facing towards the right it helps to keep the hose out of the way when doing long strips of surface cleaning. What do you think??

John I did not get mine from Elite, mine is from the Whisper Wash Co. with their name on it.

Good question John, I think I would insist on being given a demo to test for a few weeks from each of the brands I was interested in and any that refuse would not get my business.

I really hate spending upwards of $800 then finding all the quirks it might have.

There are things about the Steel Eagle I do like compared to the Big Guy and then there are things I like that I have seen on the Bad Boy too.

The handle cradle for one, same position on both but the Bad Boy locks it down so it cannot work loose, I like that idea.

I would like the handle so I can quickly move it down to be able to get under benches without having to stop and turn two knobs, move handle then tighten them up again. would also like to see a very low profile on the top where the hose connects, I modified my Big Guy with a so the hose was entering on the side instead of from the top. Was it a 45° or 90° I used? dang if I can recall right now.

Also I think the two nozzle spinner does work better, reason being the oriface is a bit larger and clogs less. Yes I have an inline filter yet they are still clogging often.

Ok say no one is willing to offer me a demo to test, then in that case I would just buy another Big Guy yes. What others say I do listen to but I have to use the machine to know, Ron M. swears by Landa, I see no reason for the adjustable machines.

you could always build one.. I bought a mosmatic swivel , cut the bottom out of a 55 gallon drum, put some casters on it , mounted the swivel in the center , and add some lawn mower handle... It looks sort of funny but it cleans as well as any other surface cleaner and only cost me about $ 275.00 to build... I use it with my whitco 3000@4 Machine...

Someone Remove Bobs Account?
Thanks for your interest guys. To answer Jons question first my Dad has been pressure cleaning since the 60's I was raised in the trade and have always built my own equipment that is purchased pumps, engines and built my own frames and rigs. And I still pressure clean and always will even if the new surfacer takes off, its in my blood. I have always been know for my honesty that is the only way to be. I am not a manufacturer as of yet. I did not expect to get this much attention from the web site, the purpose of the site was to show distributors the product, and insurance companys for product liabilty quotes. When we were designing the handle we found adjusting the handle higher up not only changed the height but also changed the wrist angle for varios height people. As for replacement parts I will not over charge , I have been at your end and still are. I truly love the industry I am not in this to make a quick buck, just trying to improve things. If there is anyone near Cleveland I would be happy to show them.

Having Bob in Cleveland has saved my butt more than once. Although he's never showed me his surface cleaner. When I pick up my pressure washer I'm going to have to ask him about it.
