Tony, you seem to often fall back on the constitution of the United States and "our founding fathers"....
No matter what country you proudly or sheepishly call yours, they all fall short of perfect law.

I don't recall Daniel, Jesus, or Paul fighting the authorities to get things fixed.

I agree that the whole world is a mess, don't get me wrong.
 
If we cant fall back on the constitution then what can we fall on? belief in religion is just that, a belief. Belief in the constitution is a MUST. why is it that the bible cannot be rewritten and we all must obey it. but when it comes to the rights and freedoms for people of this country, the constitution is outdated and needs to be changed?

Steven, if this is directed at my post- God's law trumps all other law. He doesn't ask us to change human laws. We have a choice to obey or not obey all law. But all our choices reap consequences.

Dan, when I have time later I will provide you an overwhelming abundance of scripture that will prove your stance is incorrect. You will either agree when I am done, or you will have to end up with the position that Christians have no obligation in this world than to allow the proliferation of corrupt governments. In the latter case you will have no choice but to condemn the efforts that took down Hitler and Stalin.

While I appreciate and respect your faith, faith without works is dead. It is the tool of the devil to allow evil to prevail.

Tell you what Dan, I spend time on this board because the majority of guys on here are hardworking honest guys (including some of the cops) who are willing to share information and get into discussions from what type of pump to use to gay marriage and learn from each other.

I'll get back with you when you come back to the board. I prefer not to do private conversations on this.

Dan, it will take me hours to pull the information from the Bible. When there are so many active daily participants on this board I am not going to pull all that info and debate it with one man.

Iron sharpens iron and we can all sharpen each other.

Since you are the one interested in the information I would like to turn the question around and ask you why you feel a private discussion between two minds is preferable over the group effort of possibly hundreds?

Actually I wasn't the one seeking clarification on what I already know is truth. You said you'd get some information for me (post 25).
I'll just "appear ignorant and narrow-minded" here and simply say that true Christians are not, and never have been political or social activists. They make it their aim to live a quiet life (1 Tim. 2:2). And I would encourage you to read with a careful mind and heart the 37th Psalm, especially the first 11 verses as pertinent to what I've been trying to communicate.

Very well Dan. Anyone can cherry pick verses and make them say anything they want.

For example, I suppose this is telling us abortion doctors should be very happy, right?

Psalm 137:9 Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.

The Bible has to be taken in its totality or its nothing more than a club for the crafty to wield over the heads of the simple.

There were plenty who believed the way you do about the government before the American Revolution. They almost cost us the war. Even if one couldn't come to the conclusion through biblical scholarship that our rebellion was right, one can easily see from the fruits of that war that God put his stamp of approval on it.
