what can be done to prevent stripeing? I dont mean by walking too fast, but by over lapping?
 
Thats not from overlapping, its where the sides are getting cleaner than the middle because the nozzles are over top of that concrete longer. From what I have figrued out it happens either because of having the surfacer under powered or if you are starting to have problems with the surfacer, ie, needs nozzles or bearings. Mine was doing it when my pump was going out and right after I put the new pump on because I hadn't got the unloader adjusted just right yet. Now no striping and its great again.:victory:
 
I will check on that. I just replaced my unloader and pretty sure its adjusted right. the surface cleaner is only a few months old and has new tips... could it be something else?? Im running a steel eagle 24 inch. off a 7.8 gpm landa
 
You should have 4 gpm nozzles ( tips ) on your SC.
I only say this because you mention that the SC is only a few months old. Maybe it is not geared for your output from your PW.

Your GPM is closer to 8GPM so the tips should be 2504. If infact you use 25 degree nozzles for your flatwork.


You can also spritz the flatwork with some 12% to get rid of remainder of striping.
 
thanks for the responses. If there are any other possibilities it would help alot. I am just a perfectionist and want it to be perfect. Ive never had any complaints so I would prefer to keep it that way.
 
Many varibles....considering your equipment is flowing right,which sounds like it is.If pump was losing it you'll get swirls from sc not spinning up to speed.First check is tips.You may have 15 degree tips which clean more aggessive.If so try 25@4 or evan try 25@4.5 When you check/replace tips measure distance from tip to bottom of brush.Should be 1 1/4.I've had sc when I've worn down the brushs and tips get to close to concrete.Beyond that theres the crappy concrete issue.I have an entire development where I cannot use a surface cleaner on the sidewalks.I have to wand it 10" away.:shout:So if it a soft concrete issue there's not much you can do
