I have cleaned well over 1500 kitchen exhaust systems, and now my no-compete has expired. I have $4000 saved, and would like around about 8000 more, but with a family, and numerous expenses to be able to start a KEC business i would need a loan. Is it possible?

Sure is. Try an SBA loan program. Your banker will know the details. Or you could find and investor/hard money lender.
Either way your going to need a business plan.

If you are thrifty you can do it with what you have. I gave my son a pw and a surface cleaner 3 years ago now he has two trucks, two trailer rigs and a flatbed rig and 4 surface cleaners and not a dime of debt.

The debt is a trap.

Cash is King, for 4k you can get going just like Tony stated and make money from day one

i understand that a loan can be risky. but im wanting to start with a level of professionalism, especially since i will be catering to commercial customers. I have all i need for a business plan, and depending on the financial institution's requirements i will tweak it. but with only 4k im just not there....YET but thanks for all the help
