Stamped Concrete - What is this?

I am doing a large job on Thursday, and the back patio is stamped concrete, Most of the patio has this white film on it, I rubbed it with my hand to see if it would come off like powder but it did not.

I took a picture of an area of the patio that has not been exposed to the elements and this is what its supposed to look like, I also took a picture of what the white im talking about looks like.

Any suggestions on how to remove this whiteness.

Be careful with stamped concrete that you do not remove the color. If you do, you would be in a world of it because then you would have to restain it. Problem with that is the color was most likely mixed into the stamping. If you can not get another color to stick you would be in deep.

The white film can be removed with a paste application from the sealer store. You apply it like 100SF per kir and let it sit a while. After that you come back with a turbo nozzle, but have to be careful. theres a fine line of removing the sealer and the color.

It turned out bad and Good!

The Bad- i was not able to remove the white, Turns out there was no sealer present, so it was not water trapped under the sealer, it was the actual concrete underneath the stain!


The Good, thursday Morning I will be Stripping, Staining and re sealing the Patio, a 200 cleaning turned into 1k+

I love how things work out, I will have pictures and Video on the strip and staining process.
