spot free rinse

I know this has been talked about before. Most good soaps do prevent most spotting on windows. However some customers just have hard water that will spot windows no matter what soap you use. Came across this little unit, it might be nice to use as a final rinse. Thoughts? I realize its only 3gpm, if only using a light mist to rinse windows, should be ok.

(I do offer window cleaning, but not every customer wants to pay to have there windows cleaned as well. )

With DI we can get between 1200-1700 gallons. it depends on the total disolved solids in the water before you filter it. I looked into regenerating it myself and found it would be more expensive so I take the tanks back to culligan and they give me new ones.

sorry I didn't look at your link until now. I rent our tanks and they are alot bigger than that. I have heard of guys renting them for as little as $45, so you could rent an awful lot of tanks before you came close to the price of that little hydro tek.

That unit will do 1,000 gallons of water before a cartridge exchange. The cartridges come in pairs (anion, cation). It has to be pressure fed, you can't draw water through it. You might want to think about putting a 3 gpm ShurFlo on the inlet and just use a low pressure flush down with the machine.

Keep in mind that it depends on your area. In some areas, such as New York, the water is soft enough that you can get 1000's of gallons of processed water on the sam set of bottles you will get 500 gallons from in Phoenix. We always used an exchange program, because we found it to be more cost efficient. Our last purveyor we were paying about $75 for an exchange of mixed bed bottles that were 320's, which is how they measure the size of the bottles.

That unit looks like it would for the mobil auto detailer.

Hey guys,
Infinite Green has a product for hard water spots and stains that works better than CLR or Lime Away. 100% natural, non-toxic, will not harm surrounding surfaces. No more scraping with razor blades or steel wool. I have demonstrated it in many car wash facilities, after being told that nothing will clean their windows, and have not had a failure yet. Just be sure that the wash has never been a "touch less" wash, as they use a high acid product that actually does etch the glass. If anyone would like further information, just let me know.
As soon as I can figure out how to post some before and afters here, I will do so. In the meantime, if any one wants to see them, let me know and I will e-mail them to you.
Have a great day!

Tank rental may be better overall for you with the water quality up there. You could also try using soft water many times with the good soaps that is more than enough to prevent spotting.

Cascade helps to reduce spotting . Agitate the glass with a brush and rinse. Keep some vinegar in a bucket with that agitator to reduce the ph of the house house. This could be a secrete problem solver . Not saying it is as such but maybe something to thought about?

Connor, I have one of those. Got mine from CR Spotless, paid about 300-400 I believe .about 4-5 years ago and works great. I use it for customers that want window cleaning service so I don't have to use a squeegee. I should say cause I can't use a squeegee. Also use it for washing my truck and wife car as the final rinse. Always get a spot free rinse.

What did you get Doug, a DI system? Tell us what you ended up getting.

Thanks.

how much better does a di system work as opposed to just ro water? ro water is much cheaper and the tds is still pretty minimal. if you are just looking to rinse windows, how about getting a slower ro system. maybe something like 75 gallons a day that fills a 50 gallon drum. maybe fill a pump sprayer with ro water and just rinse the windows when youre done?

There are always the 2nd or 3rd story windows on houses that you will not reach with a pump up sprayer.

You could rig up a water fed pole to use with the ro water and brush the windows and rinse them with ro water or wash the house then rinse the windows with the ro water but that is another hose you have to drag around and deal with.

If you could get a small enough rig to fit on a trailer or in a box truck with a small tank, it could be done but the water fed pole would be a good idea to get the higher windows.
