LMAO Larry

That really is his rig

I am going to apologize in advance for being a dick head on this one but I get so sick of looking at all these guys I see running around with there "softwash" rigs!

I mean really, lets see what the average guys overhead is in business that I see.

1 Delavan or worse a shurflo pump 125.00 bucks
200 feet or less of garden hose (cheap) 50 to 75 bucks
1 tote tank - usually free but 75 to 100 if you wish to pay
1 or 2 garden hose sprayers

Then if you are lucky they may have a business license and maybe they may buy insurance but I doubt it since it would be 5 times or more their original investment.

I am not talking about some of the guys here, most have decent equipment but there are people that read these boards that call themselves roof cleaners and soft washers that have absolutely no place in business what so ever.

I mean heck if I were going into lawn care as a profession I would sure want a better image for myself than a push mower and a can! I did that in the 3rd grade

The economy as it has been has brought the softwashers of the world out of the woodwork, everyone with a pickup now has a business with less than a 500 dollar investment.

Stay strong, and no apology needed, what you say is the truth. I t seems that in our world today, there can be no lo seres, just those that haven't done as well as the others who worked harder or have more ability. This is painfully true in youth sports, no longer do you make the team, but now you join the team, the difference?

When you make the team you train for the day that you will get the opportunity to show the coach what you got, and if you just weren't good enough you went back and trained, refined your skill, made yourself more knowledgeable for the the next time. You play in the real leagues where the toughest and the smartest and the best win, and at the end of the day that winning work hard attitude pays off with reward that you EARNED, not bought into.

But when you join the team you put in your $ and no matter what your skill set is, you are on the team, no accountability, no need to try harder, you are just happy to be part of the team. You dint play in the real leagues where the toughest and the smartest and the best win, and at the end of the day all that matters is that you tried your best and heres your consolatory ice cream cone.

This is what the country is moving toward, kids dint know failure and cant even recognize success, all are even, everyone does the same. Well crap on that! My daughter is a standout student, and accomplished violin player is becoming a great athlete, and we have to bring her away from the government run leagues and activities and get her into a progressive and competitive environment so that she cam accomplish her goals.

Giving what the country is coming to , the barf that is expelled from the population pool are the soft washers - roof cleaners - and the like.
Now sit back and dint get your panties in a bunch, we know who the real roof cleaners and soft washers are, so please dint defend the others in that same category.

If you really want to see these guys overhead, here is the equation

1-home depot pressure washer - bought at yard sale or borrowed from father
1-hatchback auto or if luck a mini p/u, either way probably borrowed "till he can get on his feet"
soap-bottles of daw and some tide and some bleach
hoses- use at customers location

THATS IT- they all want to start small then get big and be rich, but the feel that they need to start at the "bottom" till they get their feet on the ground, well what if they never get their feet on the ground and keep going this way, making the market a mess?

Great post and thread Russ, the pros need to recognize the shmoes, no hurt feeling just a dose of reality.

PS: I use shurflo and love them...:lovies:

I like this one the best.
