So is this the way to wash a roof?

Because a lot of people click on his video, promote it (whether in joking, what not to do or those that just don't have a clue), this is helping him get more views so more homeowners will think this is the right way to do things.

Videos like this is what is hurting the industry, damaging property and going to hurt your own business if you get into roof cleaning because you are promoting the wrong way to do things if you think about it. What do you say when you are trying to sell a soft washing roof cleaning job and the homeowner mentions this clown's video and how that is the right way to do the job......what do you say? Do you mention that you are promoting it to your friends in the industry so he gets more views so he has more credibility than you do?

Don't take this the wrong way, most of us don't like him and don't want to help him promote his wrong ways of doing things so we don't put his videos or links on the forums.
 
I found his Facebook page and left him a message. I basically told him that he should remove his video and then educate himself on the proper ways to clean a roof and that his video makes him look like an idiot.

christopher i completely understand and in theory agree with but i would love for someone to bring this video up once i start selling roof cleanings. in my (humble) opinion it would give me a chance to explain in detail why it is horrible for your roof i would also point to all the dislikes on his video. great job on posting to his Facebook Rance.

I see guys that go around and attack the guys for making videos. Then I go to their youtube channel and I see a list of comments where they have searched youtube and made negative comments everywhere (but no self made videos). Everyone has the ability to make a video. So when a homeowner goes to this video and see your comment and click your name and see that you have no videos? Also In none of these negative post do I see guidance, all I see is kill yourself your doing it wrong.

I once was that person who wanted everything top secret. Then I realized even if my competition is doing it wrong it hurts me. I will give you this example of the better me. My wife was in our neighborhood walking and over heard a guy up the street pressure washing tell the homeowner he is not a miracle worker. I immediately got out and walked down the street, because I already knew the house he was cleaning and it was no way for him not to make the homeowner think its was miracle. Well the bottom line was he was down streaming Clorox after he diluted it with water by 75%.

So if we want to help the industry name calling is not the key. Make your own video of the correct procedure.
 
I'm glad I watched that painter guy. Been doing it all wrong all this time. Now I know why I own a turbo nozzle.
How can you combat misinformation from dip$h!t$ like that.
