And am I mistaken or does sodium metasilicate cause problems with glass?

Add to much an the windows will spot like crazy add just the right amount mix with other goodies is cleaning nirvana.Sodium metisilicate penahydrate is used in alot of cleaning agents.
 
Wet them down first.
 
At 12.5% I would probably use 8-10 gallons,...After being mixed down a little then DS'd,..approximately 12-14 gallons of total bucket mix.

*Assuming severity of mold is normal and the conditions are calm.

Thanks Jeff, Makes me feel a little better about using 15 gallons through a 7 gpm 12 volt on a windy day. I still feel that is to much though. I cant seem to find a good ratio through dsing to take off the dirt on the first pass. Comes off real good with the 12 volt though of course. I am going to try straight sh and roof snot down steaming see whats up there.
 
Not sure what you're saying about applying through a 12V,..if that's the case,..you will be using quite a bit more,..remember DS'ing cuts it down considerably and adds to the total volume ,..that's actually hits the siding.

*DS'ing is the way to do a job like that.

What is it you are looking to remove?? DIRT or MOULD.??? If it is mould your SH is only going to bleach it out so there is no longer colour in it. It still needs the wash and rinse process.
If it is DIRT, cobwebs and general wind blown grime then you need a detergent on the job and I am a strong advocate for a fleet wash type product. Then the wash and rinse. SH isn't the answer to EVERY wash situation.
If you can find a product that you spray and walk away job done you will make a fortune over night.
There are various spray and walk away products on the market here in New Zealand and if you watch the adverts on TV they are the wonder cure for cleaning homes, roofs and flat area's but what they don't do is remove the dirt, dust, pollen, dead moss and Lichen and all of the other nasty's that we can move with the right methodology and equipment and of course ELBOW GREASE. I don't see elbow grease advocated much here on these forums. It's a cheap product that is easy to apply and gives great results.
 
I don't think he's saying he's not using a soap,..he mentions roof snot,...I think he's asking how much SH to use in addition to soap, My response to him was just for the SH,..the addition of soap is a given and I didn't feel the need to mention it.

first things first, it's mold not mould. you are assuming things when you shouldn't be.

In the part of the world where I come from we have MOULD on buildings. It is only in the US where you have MOLD.A mold (US) or mould is a fungus that grows in the form of multicellular filaments called hyphae. In contrast, fungi that can adopt a single celled growth habit are ...
So I would ASSUME if it was MOLD then drowning the place in HYPO must be the way to go as it seems to be the favourite (FAVOURITE) weapon of choice in the US.

Drowning mold with a hypo solution IS the way to kill mold dead. What else works as well or even works at all in the exterior cleaning industry?
If you do the math,.... with my setup I'm using less than 1% SH,..so drowning with a solution of SH isn't as bad as you make it sound,..because it's an SH solution,..not just SH.

* By the way,..after I did the bucket test yesterday and found out how little SH was actually hitting the house,..I am REALLY surprised with the overall results and mold killing ability of such a small amount of SH. Especially on the last house we just did.

**So the Elemonator that Bob sells gets a big thumbs up,..because it does seem to be making the SH REALLY come to life.
