Rooftop nightmare

This has got to be one of the worst rooftops I have ever seen. The grease is so bad it is running down the side of the building. The owner said he as owned the place for 19 years and never had the hoods cleaned. Any ideas on how to clean this rooftop?HPIM0044.JPG

That's pretty bad, ive seen a few tho that put up some competition, when its that bad the the roof is all eaten up underneath usually. i'd just strip the roof, and re-do it. Then get some grease containment system .
 
I think that duct smoker would be the ticket. I talked to the owner again today and he is going to have the fan, ductwork and roof replaced this month. The duct has two horizontal jogs that are round stovepipe. They are 3/4 full. We are going to go in when they start and clean the inside of the hood when they pull everything apart. I am glad he is doing the right thing.
 
Is the roof covered with stones? It looks like it is. If so you are going to have to scoop off as much of the grease as possible, then scoop up the stones and clean them in a chemical solution, I simply use two buckets, one with chemical and one with plain water. Or you could just charge to put new stone on the roof.
 
That is 1 messed up roof.
Good to know that roofs like that are not only here in SOCAL.:D
 
did you get the bid? .... If so......how did it work out?
