As has already been said in this thread, adding warm water to your roof cleaning mix will help quite a bit, but what will also help is first pre wetting a part of the roof with fairly warm water, from a hot water pressure washer, followed by an immediate spray of a strong SH solution.
The existing warm water on the part of the roof will then dilute the mix down for you.
At the Roof Cleaning Institute Forum, Kevin of Peak Of Perfection Roof Cleaning in Bellingham Washington (near Seattle) plans to experiment with heating elements for roof cleaning tanks!

All of tis talk about Winter washing has made me think,..there is a whole different demographic out "there" than we see in this region. People here stop calling for these services when the weather begins to show definite change. Which I'm glad the general public here feels this way,...because like them,..I'm just as happy waiting for warmer days.

I like the break, and Ted mentioned not getting into the Winter fund,..which I can look at through his viewpoint and see the benefit,...BUT for me,..Ha,Ha,...that's what the Winter fund is for,..being able to take the time off.

I cleaned a roof in mid 20 temps one time. It was awful. Lay your rinse hose down for a minute and game over, frozen. If it absolutely needs to be done at temps lower than 40, usually there's a panicked customer who got the ultimatum from there insurance. We'll do it but the price doubles. And it's not a "chi-ching" kind of double because it takes longer to justify the cost.
