Roof Cleaning Tanks

What size tanks are you guys using with your setup and how did you come to using that size of a tank?

Weight is an issue with roof cleaning, but it depends on how much you need to haul around. I hate it when I have to run up to the love bar for some more.
We carry a 175 tank and a 100 in the bed and another 175 on the trailer.
I could throw one bigger tank in but atm we are toy'ng around with our system. I usually pick up 100 gallons first thing in the am.....

Going to be upgrading soon and was interested in what you guys use and how much work you do?

You could state the size tank(s) you use and how often you fill them up and why your system works for you. How many roofs you usually get out of a tank (I know this is tough as the degree of mold varies)..

This way we can see the benefits of everyone's unique roof cleaning setup.

I have a 125 and mix before I leave for the day - it gives me plenty of room for extra and is not to big - I had a 250 and it was way to big for me - all I do is roofs, house washes and driveways.

We use 1 - 100 gallon tank. Sometimes its a single roof and sometimes its 3. I prefer to fill everymorning. I don't like old product.

Great info guys...

We like to use fresh Chloro also when we are roof cleaning.

When we have a large project we just rent a large tank and keep fresh stuff OTJ (with permission of course).

I worked out of a 100 and barrels for a while also. Better than having a tank full of older Chloro. I have found though here Roof Cleaning Tampa that chloro is usually hot for a while if you don't have contaminates in the tank or in direct sunlight.

We use dual 300 gallon tanks on both of our roof cleaning trucks.
I had a way to fill both tanks up with straight chemical, and hook another feed to a water supply.
This worked on some jobs, depending on water flow.
Mostly, we do either tile or shingle roofs.
So one 300 gallon tank is tile strength, and one is shingle.
We simply switch tank feeds, depending on what type of roof we are doing at the time.
I think a Yellow tank is the best compromise between UV Protection of the roof cleaning chemical, and being able to see in it.
Black is the very best UV Protection, but hard to see into it.
Our tanks are clear, simply because we use so much chemical, it seldom has time to go bad.

Well look who's back!!!! We missed you Chris!!! :)
Aw Shucks Larry, I missed all you guys too :)
We have 4 roofs to do today, and my guy was OUT of Chemical !!!
Not to worry, we bought elsewhere, had to.
Got roof to clean in Riverview tomorrow, and one in Heather Lakes too, then a Tile Roof In Palm Harbor for Wednesday.
Got lots of quotes out, but business is OK, for THIS time of year.
The roof cleaning business picks up near the end of January, early February, in my experience.
How are you doing ?

Doing Good Chris. Glad to see your busy. :)

We COULD have done 4 roofs today, but why kill ourselves ?
So, I moved the Heather Lakes to tomorrow, we can do it on the way back from Riverview.
Wednesday, gotta go to Palm Harbor for that white tile roof.
bid that customer two months ago.
He bought his Palm Harbor home on a short sale, and called to get a ballpark idea how much it was going to cost to get the tile roof cleaned.
He remembered us, after 2 months.
So, we are good to go until Wednesday.
Nothing after that, so far, but we will be at 3 grand for this week after wednesday, enough to pay the bills.

We have been a little slow so far this week but it's still Monday. Waiting to hear on 1 Roof Cleaning quote in Oldsmar and one in the Bayou Club in Largo and another which is a Pressure Washing job up in Palm Harbor. People should be shaking off the Holiday spending spree shock by next week and the phones will be ringing again. Tax time should be good too!

I met a NEW Girl Larry!
She is 33 years old, I am 54 :D
She has two little girls.
I plan to train her to do some sales, and help me in my roof cleaning business.
She is a Redneck Girl, met her singing Karaoke at a Country Bar.
A good ol gal, pretty, a LITTLE taller then me, but that aint saying much.
She is gonna be great, I can tell already!
For the FIRST time, I will have someone to help me in my business.
