Roof Cleaning Certification Begins At RCIA !

Now if you don't pay the $100 you don't get into the super secret members only forums. No decoder ring and forget ever learning the secret hands shake.
I'm happy Chris' site is doing good, but some of the RCIA guys take themselves way to seriously. They seem to forget that PWI,TGS and PTState helped bring roof cleaning into the main stream.
I was teaching roof cleaning long BEFORE there ever was a PWI, Grime Scene, or a PT State. The old Delco Board was where everyone hung out, way back then. It was shut down because of some legal crap, and my many thousands of posts were lost. I moved first to The Grime Scene, then here to PWI, and finally to my own Forum, the RCIA.
The RCIA was always planned to happen, as you can see here http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/jul99/932670591.Bt.q.html

I have over 3 thousand posts here, and even more at The Grime Scene. 96 percent of my posts are in the roof cleaning parts of the forums only.

I think it is safe to say I have more then done my part, to advance the profession that I love.

RCIA is run by it's members, they asked for, and got, a closed (so called super secret) forum.

For the record, I was against closing the forum, because I was afraid of what it might have done to our overall SEO.

I am very proud to say the RCIA Forum is the number one roof cleaning website on Google, in the world.

Hows the certifying Going Chris
Very very well Ron! In fact, I am proud to say Al Lockyer Sr (Not AC) who owned, and recently sold Mallard Systems, now has started a new roof cleaning company on the east coast of Florida, and is going to be RCIA Certified soon!
What an Honor it will be for me to RCIA Certify my old friend Al Lockyer Sr of Mallard Systems!
I have known Al Lockyer Sr as both a friend and a one time competitor, for nearly 15 years!
When he owned Mallard Systems, we helped each other.
We have remained close friends, over the years.

His new roof cleaning company will be based in Titusville Florida, and serve Florida's East Coast, clear down to Miami!
He only plans on running a couple of trucks, for now.
He is currently having his website made.

Once that is finished, I will help my old friend, with his new website's SEO. Al Lockyer Sr is "old school", and not a computer geek type of person. But hopefully, we can get him to post and share some of his tremendous roof cleaning and business experience with his fellow RCIA Members !

Hey Y'all,

I just saw this thread and wanted to jump in here and explain. I am the VP over at the RCIA.

1. This was an old thread, Jan 2009.
2. The BOD suspended the certification program back in October.
3. We have launched a committee to look into the possibility of the development of a future certification program.
4. When and if we begin certifying roof cleaning contractors it will be a therough certification based on a written standard with vocational schools and other third party entities administering our test.

Hope this helps. I am sure you will see that when we do possibly begin certification again it will have A LOT more meat and potatoes.

Thanks!

AC

Just so any newbies coming aboard here at PWI know I am no longer associated with the RCIA.

Thanks,

AC

Thanks for sharing ! Just in case any newbies get confused by your past association with the RCIA AC, let me make it crystal clear the RCIA wants nothing to do with you, or what we consider the questionable chemicals and equipment you sell.
However, Newbies might want to consider this ?
Your Father, Al Lockyer Sr, who owned and ran Mallard Systems of Orlando, has started a new roof cleaning company!
When your own Father wanted Roof Cleaning Certification AC, he did not seek out either UAMCC Certification, nor did he seek out his own Son's Softwash Systems Certification. No "copy cat" or "me too" UAMCC roof cleaning certification for your Dad AC.
No, he came to the RCIA for his Certification, and proudly displays the RCIA Certification Badge on his website!
LOL, now Dad has the OLD RCIA Certification Badge displayed http://saferoofandexteriorcleaning.com/ (it was all he had).
Not to worry though, we have sent him the new RCIA Certification Badge.

It is a free country AC, and if you and the UAMCC want to Copy the RCIA by issuing Roof Cleaning Certifications, have at it.
Heck, It is said that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery", and it won't be the first time that my roof cleaning ideas have been imitated (copied).

Your father ran, then sold Mallard Systems AC, people need to know it was NOT "all you".
Your Father is a veteran of the roof cleaning indusrty, and that is a fact!

Your father was not interested in a copy cat certification from his own Son, or from the UAMCC AC, and that is why he is RCIA Certified.
He also has no plans he told us, to buy any of the equipment you sell, or any of the questionable chemiclals you peddle to newbies either.

The RCIA Family has embraced your Father AC, and he will be afforded the full resources and SEO Power of both RCIA Forums, as well as be in our "find a certified roof cleaner Map"!

Our RCIA members will help your Father be a success in the roof cleaning business.

It is my opinion that your Fathers choice of what Certification to get, should speak loud and clear to any roof cleaner seeking Certification.

Al Lockyer Sr ran Mallard Ststems of Orlando Florida for many many years.
I have known Al Lockyer as both a former competitor, and a close personal friend nearly 11 years.
Al is a treasure chest for all things roof cleaning, a true expert in his field, able to answer any roof cleaning questions. His new roof cleaning company, will be serving the east coast of Florida.

That was almost boastful. I sensed a little malice there. Kinda like you took AC's Dad and made him yours now or something. Just so you know how it appears. I guess you and AC are not friends. Maybe one day things will be better between you guys. I can't tell sometimes if you old guys are kidding or not.

Hello my name is Mark in valrico. Is there any rule from dot on how much chlorine you can hall around on trailer? I was wondering the laws and if i needed a hazmat or cdl license. I have a 100 gallon chemical tank. Thank you! I heard a company got fined big money for carrying chlorine on trailer without a cdl or hazmat license.

Mark liquid SH is limited to 119 gallons and powder chems like CH are limited to 840 pounds. We have a great webinar on the DOT requirements at http://softwashsystems.com/page_SoftWash-Certifications.htm or at this link at, http://www.instantpresenter.com/AccountManager/RegEv.aspx?PIID=E958DE848549

Hope this all helps!

Mark I think it differs from state to state. Here in KY you can carry up to 1000 lbs before needing DOT and HAZMAT certs.

For the record I deleted my account at RCIA mainly based on Chris Tucker's highly unprofessional comments here. If any company decides it's OK to put down their competition or bring someones family in to it in the guise of "telling the facts" it's a good indicator that they have a weak product.

It's pretty standard procedure over there Tony. At least the last time I was there it was. That was a good while back.

More comments from chris on how he feels about PWI and Ron!

John, it is such a long long story, and it is late at night.
But here is the deal, short version.

I invited AC Lockyer to the Industry, and the RCIA. The RCIA was pressured by Ron Musgraves to become an Org (non profit)
A board was formed with me, bill booze, and AC Lockyer.
AC became a vendor, and started selling stuff on our forum.
This was a clear cut conflict John, AC was asked to step down,, he refused, and the members kicked him out of the RCIA.

So, AC got in bed with Ron Musgraves, and then the UAMCC started to copy the RCIA, by offering Certifications, using material stolen from us!

LOL, AC Lockyers own Father, Al Lockyer Sr, was recently certified by us at the RCIA !
Ac's Dad Ran and recently Sold Mallard Systems John, it was NOT "all AC", like he wants everyone to believe!

Ac's Father could easily have chosen UAMCC Roof Cleaning Certification, or simply went for his Son's Softwash Systems Certification John. He quite possibly could have get either the UAMCC or the Softwash Systems Certifications for free, considering the way too cozy relationship between Musgraves and AC Lockyer.

Instead, he sought out the RCIA Roof Cleaning Certification, and paid full price for it too!
http://roof-cleaning-institute.activ...leaner-al-loc/

Ron Musgraves IS a vendor John, so WTF is he doing on the board (The President) of the UAMCC ?

It is my opinion John (and those of nearly everyone I talk to) that Ron Musgraves wants to use UAMCC Certifications, to suck people into his NCE Roundtablles.
They plan to offer "instant roundtable certifications" at NCE Events John. Do the Math, if NCE gets 50 people seeking UAMCC Certifications at a NCE Roundtable, that;s over 10 grand

Then John, Musgraves can charge the roundtable vendors more money as well,, because of all the people Instant UAMCC
Roundtable Certification will bring in!

These same 50 people seeking instant UAMCC Roundtable Certification. can also be conned into attending additional NCE speaker events, making Ron Musgraves even more money!

Also, by being President of the UAMCC John, it allows Ron Musgraves access to the entire email list, that you can bet he will use to promote NCE Roundtables.

It is 4 am here in Tampa John, and I am tired. Bill Booze is another long story.

Don't forget to visit the link below, and you may want to take a screen shot of it, before it gets edited at PWI. They are well known for that!

Though the RCIA Members showed AC Lockyer the door on our Forum, Ron Musgraves has embraced, and acts to protect him. The reason he protects AC, is because he draws people to NCE Roundtablles. LOL, it is pretty much an industry joke that AC Lockyer is Ron Musgraves "Circus Elephant"

This Man came out with his "bleach powder" John, that was simply repackaged Calcium Hypochlorite! He sold it, and like Calcium Hypochlorite is well known to do, it turned roofs white with impossible to remove Scale! Poor Michael Hinderliter had to leave a family dinner, and get his pressure washer and some Acid, to help a contractor unfortunate enough to buy and use that Crap!

Then, AC was just over at PWI, telling everyone that Lauramine Oxide (Ammonyx) was not Chlorine Compatible!

Probably in the hopes that he might scare hard working roof cleaners away from a proven chlorine compatible surfactant, in the hopes they might buy his very questionable "green wash" that claims to "boost the cleaning power of chlorine!

Of course, I took a screen shot of that John, before PWI Mods were directed to act to protect AC Lockyer, the NCE "Circus Elephant", from more public ridicule.

I am tired John, but don;t forget to click the link below

That post by chris looks like nothing but opinions. Also bill put up just around a couple of thousand of his own money to turn the rcia into a real association with a real cert. Ac stepped down on his own and then was harrased by the same people that so wanted him there. It was a disgrace to watch it unfold the way it did. This is how it works( if you dont conform you will be considered an outcast. Right now there is a company using the whole forum to support their future franchises). Just not really a good place to be posting right now.

Chris will probrably attack me for this but right now who gives a flyin f*&^.
