Edibles Restaurant on University Avenue in Rochester hopes to be open by the weekend after an early morning fire.
A malfunctioning oven caused the floor underneath to smolder and caused smoke and water damage. Damage centered in the kitchen, no other areas of the restaurant were affected.
Edibles owner Jason Herbert says, "To hear that your restaurant is on fire and the streets blocked off and you need to get here immediately is just like I just was lost my mind, you know what I mean. So I came down here and luckily there was no one hurt there wasn't flames coming out anywhere. It was a lot, ya know, it wasn't as bad as what I thought it was."
Edibles has been cleared by the fire and health departments with no code violations. They hope to open this Friday night and by next week be back in business as normal.
