Rinsing out the sodium hydroxide.

After stripping off the stain from the houses i do it seems to take forever and a day to get all the stripper out of the wood. after rinsing for 20 minutes it seems to be clean and astripper free but leave it for a half hour and its right back again. Is tghis normal? The housesd i do come out looking excellent but whats up with the stripper? its like i will never get it all out.

Depending how big the job is on a house I wait till the house is fully stripped or damp to neuter or do it the
next day.Acid works better on houses the less the moisture content is . Wood in general

I also wait till the house is fully stripped before applying oxalic and my houses come out looking fantastic.

Do you ever get all the stripper out ? Do you think what little that may be left after rinsing is completely wiped out with the oxalic?
 
Certain designed houses and the way the wood is used and put up makes stripping difficult. Tung n groove and shakes have more areas where the stripper can seep in.
 
cedar Clapboard, cedar shake, log, etc. Doesn't seem to matter which wood i am working on. When it comes time to rinse i always have what looks like stripper coming off. I know i am not putting it on to heavy. the only reason i am concerned is there's gonna come a time when i am rinsing and the homeowner is going to be standing there asking why didn't get all that brown stuff out.

I have a problem with this house I am working on. the gable end, the dormers and the bump out all came out excellent. no runs streaks nothing, they look excellent. but the two flat walls have some serious streaks that will not come out. this job is a re-do from when someone else tried to strip and re-stain. the problem areas were handled by someone else before me.

anyone have any ideas?

Hello, New to site and wanted to thank the site for having me. I am looking to become more educated on chemicals used in wood restoration: decks, siding etc.
I never have stripped using any product, then neutralized. Does the stripper cause any damage to areas that are painted and composite decking that are in the same area without protecting them? Do you have to wait to use the neutralizing agent?
