I was thinking this weekend about joining a organization (pressure washing org) After all everyone is doing and I dont want to get left behind..

The Things I was looking for:

1. Did they have Knowledgeable Teachers
2. Are they on the cutting edge of technology
3.Did they offer business advice
4.Would they share their sucess's ...that worked for them
5.also the dues should be less than 600 dollars a year
6, also did they have a forum bbs where you could share with others trying to make a living / or build a business

Anyway I plan on joining in the next day or SO ..... If they will have.....will see


just curious What others are looking for in these's organzations

David you have a few Choices, I choose to belong to them. My reasons are very different than the normal contractor.

I recommend you Support one of your choice.

I also think you should get involved locally with others org. The ones your customers belong too.
 
David... might be an idea to ask the organizations themselves aswell.

They will give you the benefits of membership and will be able to answer your questions, you will then be able to tick off the boxes with regard to what you are looking for.

I am not a member of any pressure washing organizations just now... have my reasons... but I do belong to a few organizations, 2 of which are customer organizations and one cleaning industry org.

The organizations my customers are members of have been of more value to me up to this point.

I speak ONLY for ME David


I feel NO "need" to belong to ANY "national organization"
ALL the knowledge you can wish for is on these Forums.
All ya gotta do is LOOK :)

I SEE these "National Organizations" as one big PARTY for those at the Top :(

Do some Math ?

If you get 5000 Contractors at 400 bucks a shot ?

Thats 2 MILLION Dollars David :eek: :mad: :eek:

Ain't NONE of them Getting MY Money ;)

If you pressure wash, you should be concerned about Fed and State regulations and their indiscriminate implementation. National orgs should be working with municipalities and local contractors to help us all afford to stay in business by meeting reasonable regulations.

Glad business is good William... I've heard that a lot of guys are busy just now, some busier than ever!!

how does your advertising work with the PWNC? does you biz get a mention on group advertising? discounts?

Pwi is a national organization with 3,662 members that offers:


1. Knowledgeable Teachers
2. We are the cutting edge of technology
3. We offer business advice
4. We share our success's ...that worked for us
5. Our dues are considerably less than 600 dollars a year*
6, AND we have a forum bbs where you can share with others trying to make a living / or build a business

I agree to an extent. I pressure wash and am concerned about indiscriminate implementations. However, I feel that I am better off voicing my own concerns and representing myself if they begin to affect me than someone else who may or may not have my best interest at stake. I know what my motives are and am not responsible to someone else.
 
William, I agree and respect your point of view, and a lot of other contractors share your sentiments, but I feel that the Pressure Washing Industry needs a Visible Presence to ( For Lack Of A Better Word ) Legitimize our Industry. I am so sick and tired of people thinking that Pressure Washers are uneducated, illiterate, idiots!!! And I will not at any time ( But The Good Lord Above ) let an Org. or anyone else tell me how to run my business.

Ive already saved more than what I paid in dues to the org I belong to, in organization affiliate discounts.

Which means the org has paid for itself and I have only been a member a few weeks.
