Rig in Truck Bed??

Man thanks guys. I'm getting a lot of good ideas. The only problem I see is that you all are in bigger trucks then mine. I am only in a half ton and after doing the math, for a 1k lb payload, I only have about 50 lbs left for water and at 8.34 lbs a gallon, thats 6 gal, which doesn't include the weight of the tank. Am I being to literal in my definition of a half ton truck or can I go higher? Thanks so far guys. This site rocks.

Trust me, I would love nothing more then to have a nice big diesel truck but I just can't afford it right now, so I'm trying to work with what I have. Is it possible in a half ton or do I just need to look for a second trailer?

We all started somewhere, no worries.... I started with a ford ranger, moved to a 150 and then started trailers.

I have all my 1 tons parked, I dont know if I'm selling them or what at this point.

Sell a 1ton, not for much. Buddy of mine tried to trade a 350 crew 02 powerstroke 4x4, said they would give him 6k. Big trucks are the devil now a days!

Remember you don't have to haul water in your float tank. I'm assuming you are talking about roof mix. Roof mix you can buy 5's and mix on site. Just mix what you need. Then you are hauling very little liquid. Get the water on the site. Yes you have the weight of the SH 5's but 3 will make 45 gal for us. That will do most roofs easy around here.

We are running too small of a trailer right now to haul our PW float tank full so we watch the tank and when we get close to the end we shut down the water source and use what's left and dump the rest. I'm too cheap and lazy to swap trailers until later this winter when we are down. With gas prices I may not change my methods. With current prices on the above scenario I would save $15 if I drove over 1 hour round trip to pick up bulk SH. 2 man hours and 2 gallons of gas at $4. VS $15. Plus the extra fuel to haul pre-mixed roof mix. For the big roof cleaners it makes sense. Not for me.

just bring me a couple of the 1 tons to mb I will keep um for ya

Thanks for the help guys. I have some great ideas now and hopefully I can find a float tank that will feed the PW and not weigh me down so much. I'll just try to cut weight where I can. Keep the pics coming if possible.

ah...ok, you had me a little worried there. I made up a little saying that I tell my emp....er guys that do work for me. "If you ain't dirty, then you ain't cleaning"

Pictures don't show how nasty this trailer really is! If you step inside of it your getting nasty no matter how hard you try not to touch anything.

Or..........you clean like me.

I have to agree with Rog on this one. Everything in my truck is clean too, because I take the time to clean things up when I'm finished using them.
