removing varnish/latex from deck

What's the best chemical and/or method to remove varnish or a latex sealer like Thompsons from wood, specifically Cedar?

I wish I could tell you Im pretty new at this Im doing a deck now with thompsons crap on it and im going to have to strip that with something its on pressure treated wood what would you recommend on that Thanks in advance Glen Brescia
