Removing Paint from steps

One of my restaurants used to have painted wooden steps. Most of the paint in the middle of the steps has worn off but he wants me to remove the paint at the ends. What can I do. Ive tried hitting it with pressure and scraping. I havent tried any chems.

You need a solvent based stripper. Sherwin Williams carries a product called Peel Away that works well. It is expensive, around $40-$50/gal. and coverage rate is about 100ft./gallon. I believe the dwell time is 3-24 hours and you will still probably have some sanding to do. Most people strip off what they can, sand and scuff up remaining paint, apply a primer, then repaint.
