Refinishing Baffle Filters

And I hope all agree that sometimes thinking out of the box means to make more monies in the process.

I realize that filters could be provided by hood cleaning companies to their customers for some markup %.

Often this results in obtaining used filters, many aluminum, some galvanized, few stainless.

Any suggestions on what to do with them? Get $$ for scrap metal?? Are they sale-able with grease residues?

Any suggestion to refinish/refurb? Okay, we can reattach baffles with pop-rivets etc. But how to refurbish them.
Example: One customer had galvanized filters, but they are starting to rust. Can they be cleaned and then
spray painted?? Okay, so this seems crazy. But if you got a customer that has a really bad set of filters and doesn't
want to pay even $15 to $20 to replace them, we are stuck trying to clean them without destroying them and
being asked to replace them if they really break. So if we could refinish some strongly assembled filters possibly
we could sel them for a few bucks to replace the grossly bad ones they have.

Can the be dipped???

Or just tell me, "Throw them out!!"

Any suggestions appreciated...

I would say just to your customers at the beginning of the sale. They will need to replace her filters before you take them on as a customer. We tell our customers that we will provide filters for them at $39 per filter. If they decide not to buy new filters we're not responsible for broken filters. If the customers is to cheap.they are not a customer that you do not want to have.
