Reclaim unit

Hi my names Chris Epping and I have came across a used/ new reclaim unit and have had trouble finding any info on it online. I was curious if anyone has had any info or experience with it. The gentlemen is asking 1600$ with delivery (5 hours 1 way) seem fair?

you would be amazed you show up with 1000 and he takes it
 
I would offer him $1200 for it and he delivers it. I heard Hydromax actually makes decent equipment. I agree with Ron $1000 if I was to go get it but the 10 hours of driving both ways plus fuel, mileage on my truck, ect I would glading pay him the extra $200.
 
What are the specs, he should have them.

Does it vacuum and pump out or just vacuum? If it only vacuum's, I would pass as you could easily build one that vacuum's and pumps out for less than that and it will be new.

If I did not see the name on the side, (I have not heard of them anyway), I would think that it was home-made.

That almost looks like the Nikro dual head vacuum.
 
He said it came with the trailer he ordered as a complete unit. The brand is hydro max which I've seen before but didn't know they made reclaims. He's pretty set on the price but I don't want to offer the less till I know more about it.
 
I agree Ron, they have some nice hot water skids.

I would not spend a dime on that recovery device until you know the specs, what it can do, if it has a pump-out, etc....otherwise you might be buying an expensive shopvac.

Yes this is BCE Systems brand name "Hydro Max".

Brain is a smart guy, they have built a few reclaim variants over the years (I think some rotary lobe blower types also).

I have not seen this electric recovery and filtration unit.

Looks similar in design to MiTM PWR units (which form the photo i have attached seems to be in its second version)

I have enjoyed building a few recovery and filtration systems myself.

What exactly are your thoughts when you say "nice affordable" Chris ?
 
Guess I should introduce myself I forgot to. My names Chris and I just started to urban TEK pressure washing started here in the Salem/Portland Oregon area. I've been reading this forum for the past year everyday all day gathering info from all of you. I purchased all my equipment from bob (8gpm hot water and all the goodies) and a enclosed trailer. I work full time as a Nissan technician and want to transfer into fulltime washer in a few years.

As far as the "nice and affordable" I have talked to the owner of a gas station in my home town and he said reclaim is a must. I only have a 200 gallon tank and thought I would try and buy or build a reclamation unit capable of handling 8gpm and be compliant with the EPA.

Congratulations on the biz startup.

I started by looking at was available on the market (there are a great deal of choices), I looked at the engineering, pricing, the pros and cons, then I decided; "let me put something together", just like you are thinking.

The experience was/is interesting, if I had to advised someone today, i would say evaluate the type of recovery needed for the service provided , know your local authorities having jurisdiction and their requirements, review whats available at your budget, and evaluate the cost, time, and risk, of building your own unit.
