Really Dirty Deck!

That was pretty nasty!

what did you use to clean?
 
Nice good mix to clean but I don't DS my chems they're never strong enough.

Did the deck get brighter? Looks like the brightener could have been stronger?

I took the pic while the brightener was dwelling. I only downstream the brightner, I'm still playing with my brightener ratio. I will try direct application on my next one. What ratio do you mix your brightener for direct application.

I usually mix 2-4 cups to a 5 gallon mix and applied with shurflo,I'll start out at a minimum and add if too weak. You should see the wood brighten pretty quick if not it's probably too weak or if you were stripping there is still some old sealer on it.
 
Shane, I thought the same thing. Another explanation could be on the wash end of it. This deck has a heavy build up so it is not known if there was any work done prior applying chems to remove some of the build up. Bleach reacts with the first thing it comes in contact with so it may have reacted with the dirt and build up and really never got to the wood. If you look close it actually looks better wherever the algae was which means the solution did what it was supposed to in those areas and was not able to where the other build up was.

I think your right, I mixed my brightener much weaker. Still working on chem ratios for wood.
 
Remember, it you apply acid and the wood is sopping wet it's not going to do much and will not work well.With severe staining acid works better if the surface is damp.
 
WOW that is crazy they would leave it get that bad!!!
