I have been asked to give an estimate on concrete flat work at a large local church here in the metro atlanta area. It will involve sidewalks, entrance ways and curbs. I have done primarily residential and I need to know what the going per foot rate is. Any help would be appreciated.

I mostly do restaurants, but I know regular flatwork has a broad price range. I've seen from just a few cents a square foot, to .25 and up. My advice would be to look at the property, estimate how long it will take you, and charge what you want to make per hour on it. Don't short yourself.

Center contracts and such may be charged per sf, but single jobs I would charge like I said above.

Tommy, asking the going rate for Commercial flatwork depends on several factors.

My price maybe lower than yours because of equipment. For example... I could move faster than you because I have more than 1 unit, therefore charge less and still turn a dollar.

How many Sq. Ft are you bidding? The more Sq. Ft. the lower the price.

Are you required to reclaim? Atlanta.. I would say yes.

The simple answer to this question is, charge an amount that makes your business a profit. Only you know the answer to that question.

Good Luck Buddy!!!

Here in Northern mexico we get up to 2 1/2 cents per foot! Seriously on a large flat job with drainage - stripmall - you can go more by square foot. Otherwise it's a guess on your time combined with the prevailing wage of square foot prices. Courtyards and enclosed areas can take a long time to rinse and drain!

You have to consider
A. How much do you need to get paid minimum to pay you bills
B. How much do you wana get paid an hour if you wanna do it that way
C. if you wanna get paid by sqft then come up with a .$$ rate that you think would be right.
Everyone on here has a set rate but non are the golden amount, to be honest it changes with every job.
Hope it works out for ya,Good Luck

Russ Ihave net 30s on 60+ days overdue now. Corp companys are strugglin to pay. I hate to call and babysit accounts payable dept. but i hope it get better real soon.

How about just doing what credit card companies do and charge them 5% or more per day past due? Then set up a network of reporting on them to every legit contractor out there. They will go get a hack, but after they see the work they are stuck with and after a call to the health board to show them, maybe they will pay up? I guess I got that fairy tale from the planet Kolob? lol
