Rain Today In Tampa

Apple Roof Cleaning

Roof Cleaning Instructor
I HAD two 3000 plus sq ft tile roofs to clean today in the Tampa area.
One in Eastlake Woodlands, and one in Palm Harbor.
Rain and wind is expected, so we decided to stay close to home, and clean a few here in Brandon, FL instead.
I moved the tile roofs in Palm Harbor and Eastlake Woodlands to Friday.
The customers are all repeat roof cleaning customers, so they had no problems waiting a few extra days.

Storming bad here in Ocala right now. Verry windy. Not a roof day :0).
We had 45 mph winds come through Tampa/Seffner area.
No way we are cleaning roofs in that weather.
The two tile roof cleaning customers we moved to Friday are repeat customers.
Actually, over 1/2 of our business are repeats, or referrals from same.
Word of Mouth Brother, that is what happens after 16 years cleaning roofs in Tampa

... I just got done washing a 4,500 sq.ft. house in Celebration when the heavens opened!!

Winds were a bit of a pain for reaching high peaks, but I used the 8' lance with garden hose nozzle and managed to soap and rinse with no problem! (thanks greg! ;) )

so fortunately, there was no rescheduling for me today!

Steve do you have a picture of that?

The wind pick up here a lot today as well.

Still did 1 complete house, roof included and another roof only. It got exciting on the second house.

hey steve, whats the brass spray nozzle do. i've read about it before . is the spray a straight pattern or ?

yeah, concentrated straight jet of water... orifice allows you to downstream. Since I changed to downstreaming from X-Jet the garden hose nozzle has helped me work a lot faster... that's just me tho!

Poor mans ladder saver LOL

Probably works better :)

lol... some may say that it's the smart man's ladder saver! ;) :) ($$$$ saver)

works real good... never used ladder saver, so have no comparison - but it has helped me out a lot.

Garden hose nozzle has one orifice (in picture).

M5 X-Jet Nozzle has a 'twisting' adjustable spray pattern - wide spray to narrow 'jet'. The orifice size in this one isn't big enough to draw from my downstreamer back at the hose reel.

When I don't want soap I change out the nozzle as you would when, say, changing from a 15 degree quick connect to a 25 degree quick connect...

hope this answers your question Chris.

Recently bought variable pressure dual lance... not used it yet though!!!

I was going to test it today, but I was short of a couple of quick connects.

I don't think I will use it for residential/house washing... I bought it mainly for 'soaping' and washing block walls (which I've done a few of recently), to test out the variable pressure in gum removal and for use on EIFS.

Maybe some of the other guys will chime in... although, it is changing the topic from the original thread.

Chris, ask the question in a new thread... we may get some more info from other people's experiences?!?!

:)
