what company makes a good set of rain clothes/wet weather gear that is not killer hot to wear?

what are the suits made of? I'm looking for something I can wear that will keep me dry from the waist down...When I'm doing flatwork I tend to get very wet from the knees down, usually when I'm doing sidewalks that have a verticle edge bordering a parking lot. Cleaning that verticle edge with a wand creates a lot of blowback of dirt and water. I've solved part of the problem by using a 4' wand, but I still get wet and dirty. It'd be nice to have something I can wear that I can hose off after working. Jeans don't hose off very well....The problem with a plastic rainsuit type getup is that it's damn hot when the temps are in the upper 90s and the humidity is at 80%.....

I thought about checking with an outdoor supplier (camping gear, etc) to see if they had something waterproof that breathes fairly well.

Any suggestions?
 
Here's an idea, your in Fla., put on a pair of shorts and the mist will feel good. I never get wet using a wand, unless I am hot and I need to cool down.
 
Dan, If you want to spend the $$$. There is a company called Frog Togs. They make light weight rainsuits. I think they are Tyvek type material. I saw some in Texas at Academy Sporting Goods. The top was about $40.00-50.00. Do a search on Goggle.

If you want to spend a few bucks, Helly Hansen makes some great gear.
I don't know if they have any light weight suits.
Around here most contractors work in the rain(about 8 months of the year) and almost always have HH raingear.
 
It is pretty good. You must know that green(some black stuff too) stuff grows here on almost any surface. Someone needs to get it off!
 
now im looking for an INSULATED rain suit in xxl.
Anyone ever wash in a wet suit or better a dry suit?
it will be very cold in a short time.
Truck washing must go on.
 
Ive used helly hanson for years, pricey but its the best. about 125.00 for a full set. Bibs and jacket but its commercial grade stuff and heavy duty. Wont tear as easily as the cheapy stuff and lasts longer. It is hot in summer but its warm in winter( i just get wet in the summer kinda refreshing when its 95 and humid but i know what you are saying about the mud and chems getting on your legs...its a pain.)
 
Ron P. you surely don't want to wash in a wet suit, you will sweat so much you will be more wet then if you just worked in regular clothes.

Wore them when I used to dive, that is what they are good for but to work in, I don't think so.

Besides you would not be able to put them on over anything but a swim suit!

He is a free spirit. He doesn't want to put them over anything but a swim suit, Maybe.

The few times that I have had to stay warm and ry at the same time, I used ski bibs, Not really durable, but they last a season, more or less. If you are not fashion conscious, you can sometimes pick them up for a decent price.
 
Grunden from a Fishermans Supply House makes the best I have
found, they have some tops with polar fleece inside for warmth,
There are also suits made by Viking that are waterproof, windproof and are insulated.
