Quick fix

The O- ring and washer neeeded replaceing between my Gun and wand, so I removed them(Yes, I know I should have spares handy) and went to Lowes and Home Depot to get some, They had the rubber O-ring but not the Hard washer, so I put it back on, well it's worse and I have a house wash in the morning, is there anything I can do for a quick fix?

Outlaw,

You may have better luck in finding the o-rings and washers you want at an Ace Hardware or True Value. HD and Lowe's don't go past the everyday items. I have found washer and orings of all sorts better at True Value or a plumbers supply.

Thanks Reed,
I ended up running down and buying a replacement gun, which really racked me off when I consider the price of a couple of washers. I know one thing for sure, from now on I will have a full assortment of washers and easily replaceable parts in my truck!

Another good place to find orings and stuff is any place that sells hydraulic hoses since the hose they use is similar to that the hose we use.

Paul-UK,

Outlaw is a modern day type outlaw, he might have a gun or two but the real question is is it loaded and ready to squirt?

O rings, buy a bag of 50 of each of the two sizes, change them more often then when they start leaking. Also I spray silicone in all my QC daily. Don't use WD40 as it draws the dirt in.

Thanks Jon, I hear ya, thankfully it didn't happen on the job this time, oh well once bitten etc, I'm ready to squirt now though, just my luck, been working on my own decks all week while it's been in the 70's, now I've got a paying job, theres a cold front blowing in tonight brrrr.

Outlaw,
Ran into the same problem one weekend. Couldn't find the fiber washer. I used the 1/4" o ring for couplers and have not had a problem since.
