Hi Everyone.

For those of you who are planning on going to the PWNA's 10 annual convention in Miami, Fl. Jan 28-Feb1, 2002.

I've got some great news....

The PWNA has convinced the Hotel, (Renaissance Miami Biscayne Bay) to drop there room rates from $169.00/night to $117.00 per night.
If you want to call the hotel toll- free 800-332-0232

Tell the reservation clerk that you'll be attending the PWNA Annual Meeting.
Hope to see y'all there, Thank you
Chris Detter/ Sun Brite/ VP PWNA

supply and demand,

Tony, my opinion is that the rate wasnt that great in the first place. I called some dumps around the area and was able to get a better rate. I think Chris is just trying to help everyone thats interested.

Thanks Chris for the info.

Tony are you a member of the Pwna? will you be in Fl at the end of the month?

i personally will not be there myself. i have some business in northern Fl ut have not sheduled a meeting yet. if that works out towards the end i might show. no cruise for me, just maybe meet some of you guys on the beach. will see??????? dont count on it.

Ron,
No, I will not be attending the convention, but I will be vacationing in Ft. Lauderdale Feb 9-17. I had thought maybe I could swing it getting there earlier to catch a couple days of the show, but the condo I stay at was not available to me at that time.

I did have a room booked in Pittsburgh, and was planning on attending that show, but as we know, it didn't work out. I was really disappointed about that, but what can you do? I know alot of other folks were disenchanted about the cancellation of the Pittsburgh show as well. Not that I'm insensitive to the events that happened then, but there still could have been plenty of good information to be exchanged. I felt that despite the terrible events that happened to our nation, we as a country all need to carry on and not alter anything in our lifestyles, as the evil people want us to do. I simply will not run my life on fear.

I'm not a PWNA member, and frankly, I don't see any advantage for myself to join. Everything that I need to learn I have been able to pickup on these great bulletin boards. For that I am greatful.

Oh no here comes Jon about the PWNA again!

Just one thing and I do admit I am a bit disappointed, after all the air was cleared up and a few of the board of directors from the PWNA started coming here I thought they would become regular members and post more.

That bothers me, they came on to do one thing and now that that has been done they go back into their corners.

Chris I do thank you for telling us about the lower rates even though I won't be there.

What I would really like to see is you and the others posting here more and not just about the PWNA but in general since you guys have been in business a long time and could offer so much, how about it?

Jon, i couldnt agree more. i woul like to see the members of teh PWNA post more often. if they believe that education is the best way then they should be right here.

although at time they can take a beating, that does get old. many of teh board wish for more things and it seems things are alittle slow.

still they should particpate more and enjoy the power that the BB might be able to give them. many things could be accomplished if folks would come together.

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for the responses, I always know that I will get interesting responses whenever I mention PWNA on these boards. And that's OK, it's what America is all about.

I just wanted to let everyone know that some great changes are in the works for PWNA. I'am going do my best to help redirect some philosopies and enerygies back into the trenches where we all started, (holding the work end of a wand).

This Annual Meeting in Miami will produce a lot of cool changes, things are happening, I think that when the dust settles y'all will be pleasantly surprised.
I'll keep y'all posted as much as I can.

Also the amount of people who have signed up for Miami is actually larger than we thought.
It should be a great show. We have a fair amount of exhibitors, some great speakers. I'am going to do the wood restoration school again.
I hope y'all realize that we are all sorry for the Pittsburgh thing, We just thought is was the right thing to do at the time. In light of the bombings.... Maybe we were wrong........! I'm actually one the board members that voted to cancel it. Sorry!
Many were afraid to fly so they ended up cancelling. We have had some thank us for cancelling and some not, Can't please everyone I guess.

Anyway Hope to see some you in Miami. Thanks again Chris

:) :) :)

I've given the PWNA alot of thought. One of the reasons I think people join is the same reason people join the Chamber of Commerce or the Better Business Bureau. Being a member of an organization that is dedicated to an area of specialty brings credibility to the member. The consumer feels more confident and comfortable. Makes it easier to sell. We have found it time and time again.

In our area I know of several companies that are members. None of them frequent the BBS's. But they are also members of the BBB etc....

Just a little food for thought.

Beth
