Upcoming PWNA seminar in Pittsburgh
Chris,
I have an idea. Alot of folks have jumped on the bandwagon of lowering costs. Sometimes that can be hard to do when you are keeping your eye on the bottom line and trying to grow a healthy organization. Sometimes you have to step outside the box in order to see the possibilities.
I got to thinking about the upcoming seminar series in Pittsburgh, and thought to myself hey, people have said it's too costly, that they don't need it all, that they want some but not all of what is there. Others have said they want the whole enchilada regardless. Sounds to me like you have an opportunity right there to increase the turnout, and perhaps the membership....
Here's how:
Offer the seminars A-La-Carte: have a price per seminar, with a color coded tage or a ticket you present to get in to the ones you pay for.
Offer a discount or something if you buy a certain number of them, but let the folks pick and choose.
This could be really helpful to the little guy starting out who can't afford the whole thing but wants to learn and do things right. He/she will see the PWNA understands what it's like to be a start up. You could even offer suggested courses for beginners in different fields.
I'm willing to bet attendance would go up, and who knows, membership might too. In effect you have not lowered prices because those who would sign up for everything will still do so. (sell and unlimited seminar pass, good to all of them for a certain price...)
Just a few ideas to mull over.
