PWNA Director turns competitor...

You wont mess me up I promise but if you do it will be ok too, I know my area like you know yours so its all good.

That's ok you promised to join , I know you keep your word. So it's all good

Text me anytime for question 480-522-5227

As far as the UAMCC, I did say I would join but I have generally tried to distance myself from all the drama and bickering, its all so old and tiring.

Yeah Russ as you found out I do also, I'm on a vary short Fuse with anyone who brings me any.

So Please do me a Favor, get me a Photo.

We have 50 state and Ten Directors for EPA

Whatever! LOL

If he were in my area I would care less, we do our job, heck, everyone can advertise in my area for all I care, we will still get more than our share.

I just would not concern myself with any of it if it were me.

Life is good, work smart and have fun! All this org stuff is good for what its good for, I have met thousands of people and not one in 17 years has asked me about an org membership.

I agree with ya, I cannot stop anyone from starting up shop anywhere. They can do whatever they want I am sure I will survive.

But their should be some respected boundries. Like, dont step on my name when you want my account. politley give them your card and tell them to call you if i fail them.

Look around, there is enough work in this country for everyone in the pressure washing field for a while. Call me hokey or whatever but i believe that if everyone worked together things would be good

It would matter if your not a member. My only concern is I think unless a contractor is servicing the area himself he could have multiple listings. Otherwise I see this being the problem, he is advertising on pwna to possible hire someone outside the org.

If I'm a member that would be a concern, maybe I just terminate my membership and pay him to scoop my leads.

Scoop leads at a reduced share....you left that out. He's doing the estimating....you have to take each job at his price or walk. The job will go to someone else in your area if you walk.

He's not advertising on PWN@ as far as I know but he does mention his position in contractor signup. The signup claims that there are no out of pocket fees so I'm guessing that joining PWN@ is not a requirement. This means that your concern would be correct, he's contracting anyone....including non members.

Maybe I'm assuming too much but I'd think that PWN@ members already rank well and wouldn't be eager to agree to a cut in pay.... so I'm guessing the target is likely the noobs and craigslist types.

Now this case it's not happening, he services those areas. This guy doesn't have one truck that covers 29 states. If he subs by chance ill bet he is trying to hire inside the association.

I'll bet he's not. Even if he was, If I was a member, I'd be ticked off that he took it upon himself to expand into my market for the sole purpose of charging me for my customers.

Marketing costs money, even if its internet marketing. The more people competing for a keyword in a local search means more work or more money to maintain market share.

would you do it if you had the capabilities? seems to me that he has it going on. I would sell work in boston if i had the oppurtunity, experience and people to do it.

What capabilities? If you are talking about the capabilities to outrank people on google for certain keywords, I do it every day. I'm not a huge fan of the lead selling services like serv us magic, but maybe I should reconsider. If you are willing to pay for jobs, maybe other are as well.

For leads that i get and do the job i will pay 25-40 % depending on the job........currently pay that now....

before the firestorm comes .......let me explain ..its not BLACK AND WHITE
if you think in terms ..im not paying anyone 25-40% this wont work for you.

so here's a example ...how much would pay for lead to clean a shopping center or parking garage ?.....and what if after you did they job you got more work from the intial job.... 25% percent will look cheap.

if someone is willing to spend time and money to generate leads and are good at it seems to me

they should be compensated extremely well ...

dont worry steven you're fine at 10%

their are a few well respected pressure washers on this board and other boards that currently clean at a discounted rate to service providers....and the rate would be 20-40 discounted off what they would normaly charge that seems to me its the same as paying 25-40% referal /sales fee.

and a final thought .......ive read on other pressure washing boards people have tried.groupon and living social advertising at a 50% discount. my immediate response would be no way...until you read their real life experience ....how they upsold jobs and how they got additional business from customers they bypassed not paying groupon a single dime......i still say for me no way...but it might work for other people........its not always black and white ...lol

I almost went with groupon, but like you I ultimatly said no. the gimmick with groupon is the wording. the ad would have said $99.00 for a house wash "UP TO 1500 SQ FEET" anything over 1500 i can charge whatever i want. Most houses are over 1500 sq feet but with my luck i would get 25 people only wanting the north side done.
