PW rig not running right

My pw motor rpms slowed down some during a job on Saturday. The throttle backed off by itself so pressure was lower than it should be. You could push it back to full throttle but it would back itself off a bit. I do not know if the motor was self governing or the pump load was increasing. The motor also seems to be running rough off and on also. The motor is the Kohler 18 hp Command and the pump is an Admiral XD 4055 (4000 psi, 5 gpm) They both seemed to work fine until now. Spark plugs fresh, color a little on the lean side. Air filter has less than 20 hrs on it. Oil level in both is good and also less than 20 hrs. Any ideas on where to look? I also would like to rebuild my pump. Where can I get the parts I will need?
Thanks in advance, Kemp

I don't think that's it. The motor loads down a lot when the unloader kicks in. May be the pump is loading it down? I will get some new sparks plugs tomorrow and try that.

You may want to switch our your fuel filter

You say the throttle "backed itself off a bit". If it has an adjustable throttle, perhaps the jamb nut has loosened a little. Try giving it a tightening so the arm won't move on its own.

Russ, Tightening the linkage was part of the problem, but it is still running rich. Where is a good place to get a carb rebuild gasket set? It should be due since the motor is a 1996 model and I think I picked up some bad fuel. The motor is a Kohler 20 hp CH20s SPEC 64503.

mine did that and it was the (russ corect me if im wrong) the PCV valve . . . i just pulled the hose out side of the breather now its fine

Yours is a Vanny, isn't it? Sometimes the breather goes bad in them, other times it's gas leaking into the crankcase.

Kemp, I'll price one tomorrow and let you know. Also just noticed you were asking about Admiral parts. I can get them, too.
