my power washer is pulsating under hi presure and not when i pull the handle it will not kick in for 5-10 seconds. any thoughts? my unit is a elite skid series
I have noticed the pulsating for a wile not but the slow start up has just started. also i noticed the slow start up after a semi tractor ran over my hose but took that section out and tryed again and still did not fix

When you say pulsation, is it like a steady machine gun type spray, or is it more like the pressure builds, then relieves, then builds again.

If it's doing the latter, and the symptom you describe with slow start up, sounds to me like a K7 unloader going bad.

I've got a trick that may solve the problem for a while (depending on how worn out it is). Take the base of the unloader off, the end fastened with 13 mm head bolts. Inside there is a piston with a rubber cup on it and a ball shaped end. Pull it out, and you'll find a spring underneath. Stretch the spring a little, but do it evenly, you don't want the spring to be crooked. Put a little grease on the cup (preferably silicone grease), and put it back together.
 
Nice trick. I have never tried that.
