JL Pressure Washing
Has anybody ever had a window break on them that had the protective window film on them.
We did this complex and got a call from the PM about a homeowner in a townhome unit thats says we broke her window.
The window has a clear Sentry Film on it. We have never broken a window on a the hundreds of complexes we do and my worker that cleaned this building knows what he's doing, we always clean & rinse window with a wide open fan
I go to the unit and the window is cracked right down the middle, the home owner is kind of bitchy.
I look it over she says they had window film put on it a few weeks ago. I figure we didn't break this window or we weren't the cause of it breaking for a few reasons. 1st there is a window screen in front of the window, I figure if some how my guy screwed up and some how blasted it with some pressure the screen would show some damage.
I figure it may of had a small break or some kind of stress problem.
Then I did a little research and they talk about thermal stress on sunlight glass WITH WINDOW FILMS, they talk about partial shading tight fitting shades etc etc , Well this lady had track shades so they are tight fitting. I figure maybe the window film causes window to have thermal stress heat up and then are water hitting it and the window cracks
Now this lady was down right rude, I might of just replaced it, but I also dont want to have issues if this should ever happen again, You cant tell if the window even had a film on it.
I talked to the PM and explained everything above to her and she just said put in writing that I don't take responsibility for it and she said she would send it to the homeowner and she also said she would tell the HO that we and or the HOA is not responsible.
ANYBODY ever have a problem with breakage like this with a window film on it? IS IT OUR FAULT that the window broke? Hell it may have even been cracked before we ever washed it
